Getting to Lizard Island

Enjoying a stunning location on the Great Barrier Reef, Lizard Island is the northern most island resort in Australia. Located 240 km north of Cairns, the below map shows all 1,013 hectares of National Park, beaches and lagoon.

Flights are available to Lizard Island from all major Australian cities via Cairns.

Getting to Lizard Island

East Air
Connecting flights operate between Cairns and Lizard Island twice daily (subject to schedule changes) from the East Air Terminal, located at the General Aviation Terminal at Cairns Airport, Hangar 8, Tom McDonald Drive.

Departs Cairns: at 11.00am and 2.00pm
Departs Lizard Island: at 12.25pm and 3.25pm

Please allow a minimum connection time of 1.5 hours for domestic connections and 2.5 hours for international connections.

Baggage Allowance
Luggage is restricted to a total of 25kg per person including one small carry-on piece of hand luggage not exceeding 4kg. Soft suitcases are preferable.

What to bring to Lizard Island

During the day casual resort wear is appropriate with smart casual attire required after 6.00pm. Suitable footwear is also required should you wish to walk along the beach or island.

Tips for travelling to Lizard Island

Check in is available from 3.00pm.
