Whilst we had a wonderful time here 5 days was probably sufficient. The staff are wonderful and our "suite was spacious and very comfortable with a nice large balcony. If you are not interested in snorkeling this would not be the vacation destination to head to.
At $2000 a night was it value for money - maybe not. Having stayed in many 5 star resorts around south east asia and the US we were underwhelmed because of the lack of opulence in the lobby, restaurant and bar areas. No floral displays, no flowers on tables, no water feature. For a luxury resort one would have expected fresh fruit and flowers in the rooms but that was not the case. The rooms were very tastefully decorated however, and quite roomy. Lack of internet or cell reception in rooms is disappointing.
All in all we had a very good experience but do feel it is overpriced.
My husband and I had the most fantastic stay on Lizard Island. We had four nights and everything was special. We rated everything as excellent and if you are looking for a fabulous unpretentious five star experience then Lizard is a great location.
We had a four night stay in a sunset ridge room and loved every minute of it. Staff were very professional in a laid back way, and obviously enthusiastic. Activities were fabulous as was food.
