An underrated gem!

Daydream Island resort was a perfect escape for a girls trip! There were 4 of us and none of us had been to this part of Australia before. What a pristine and stunning location. The resort itself felt more luxurious for what we paid, so excellent value for money. Granted we went in low season so it was cheaper. The rooms are ample, well appointed. The pool bar was definitely our favourite place to hang out, all the pools in fact. We also loved Lovers Cove, the fact that we could walk from one end to the other, the living reef, the free watersports activities. The service staff were exceptional! Helpful and friendly. We loved the fact that the staff are international and young. It makes you feel like you are in an overseas resort. The two restaurants provided adequate, reasonably priced Modern Australian fare. There needs to be more options for daytime dining, like a Cafe both near the central pools and especially on the other side of the island where the pools are. There's definite room for improvement. The central changerooms need to have hooks above the benches. A filtered water fountain to refill water bottles in the centre of the pools would also be a good idea, especially for families etc. The cocktail menu also needs to be expanded with more variety in selection and prices. The housekeeping staff also need to have extra training to be more thorough as we noticed they'd forgotten to refill some items and clear some dishes. But overall, I've been recommending this place to everyone. It is a place that appeals to all demographics. Everyone is made to feel welcome and comfortable.

Relaxing

Stayed in June. Only 2 restaurants open during off peak season- so not much to choose from especially at lunch time. Although wasn't overcrowded. Room was good but tv didn't work properly- was offered another room on day 3 but didn't bother to change. If you are into snorkeling and swimming, reef cruises I would definitely go. They had activities like trivia, bingo during the day and that was fun.
We had a nice few days there and found it relaxing. The food in the restaurants was nice too.
