What you need to know before getting married in Vanuatu

Vanuatu weddings are legally recognised worldwide, however you will need to complete and lodge some documentation at least 28 days prior to your ceremony. This includes copies of:

• Your birth certificates and passports
• A completed Notice Of Intention to Marry Form
• Divorce papers or former spouse’s Death Certificate (if applicable)
• Completed Witness Forms – 2 witnesses are required. Witnesses will need to provide names, place of birth, date of birth, parents’ names, residence and occupation.

You must also be in Vanuatu together for at least three days before the wedding.

The Lord Mayor of Port Vila will conduct your civil ceremony and the following is an example of an available Vanuatu wedding package (based on Warwick Le Lagon Resort, Vanuatu).
