Getting to Fitzroy Island

As the map shows, Fitzroy Island enjoys an exclusive location approximately 4 kilometres off the mainland of Cairns in North Queensland. Access to the island is by ferry and check-in procedure is to make your way directly to Berth 20 on Marlin Wharf at least 30 minutes prior to departure.

Getting to Fitzroy Island

Fitzroy Flyer departs Marlin Wharf Cairns at 8.00am, 11.00am* and 1.30pm. All return ferry services depart Fitzroy Island's jetty at 9.30am, 12.15pm* and 5.00pm. Please check schedules at time of booking as information is subject to change.

To get to Cairns, Jetstar, Qantas and Virgin all operate direct flights from major cities throughout Australia. Flying time varies between 2 and a half hours and 3 and a half hours depending on your departure city. Cairns also has an International Airport which accepts direct flights from South East Asia, Japan and New Zealand.

Virgin Australia: Our preferred airline with direct daily flights out of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne with connecting flights available from most major cities in Australia.

Jetstar: Departing from Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Melbourne direct daily to Cairns and from Adelaide and Perth 4 days a week.

Qantas: Provide daily direct flights from Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Darwin. Direct flights are also available from Auckland, New Zealand.

Qantaslink: Qantas regional airline provide direct flights from Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, Gladstone, Gove Mackay, Horn Island, Thursday Island, Townsville, Weipa, Hamilton Island.
