While the summer months from January to March bring the tropical rain and thunderstorms, these normally hit in the afternoon and pass through quickly. For the remainder of the year, you can expect plenty of sunshine and balmy tropical weather.

Unlike many other holiday destinations, Winter is a fantastic time to visit Lady Elliot Island. From June to August, the island receives minimal rainfall and diving is at it's best. Temperatures also sit around 22ºC and the waters are still warm. Whale watching season also occurs during this time as humpback whales make their way north for their annual migration from the Antarctic.
