Getting To Lady Elliot Island

As the most remote Great Barrier Reef Island, Lady Elliot Island is a private island only accessible via small aircraft. Permission to access the island is only granted by the Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort, and no other flight access is allowed. Operated by Lady Elliot Island Resort daily flights are offered from from Hervey Bay/Fraser Coast, Bundaberg, Brisbane (Redcliffe) and the Gold Coast (Coolangatta).

By Car: The Bruce Highway runs from Brisbane to Hervey Bay and Bundaberg taking approximately 4 hours where you can catch connecting flights, which depart daily to Lady Elliot Island.

By Tilt Train: Queensland Rail operates a Tilt Train service which runs daily between Bundaberg and Brisbane. Guests may need to stay overnight in Bundaberg before flying to Lady Elliot Island.

By Bus - Coach: Express coaches operate daily from Brisbane to Hervey Bay and Bundaberg with connecting flights to Lady Elliot Island.

By Air: Regional airlines fly from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg, where they connect daily to Lady Elliot Island. Major airlines Qantas and Virgin Austration also operate flights from all major Australian cities to Brisbane.
