Margaret River

Set between Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin, Margaret River is located in the deep south west of Western Australia and is officially known as The Margaret River Wine Region. One of the best ways to explore the beautiful scenery and sample some of the iconic local wines direct from the cellar door is with a full day wine tour that allows you to eat, drink and discover this delightful region. One of the best holiday destinations in Australia to kick back and unwind surrounded by nature, Margaret River is an inland town. The river from which the town takes its name flows west to the Indian Ocean and near the town and wine region.

Surfers visit the town in the thousands each year to enjoy the fantastic surf breaks that can be found in the ocean around Margaret River. The coastline around the region is famous for its excellent surfing conditions, renowned for their size. Surfers from around the world make the pilgrimage here each year to try and attain that elusive 'perfect wave' and love the Hawaiian-style surf culture.

Another big drawcard of the Margaret River region is the whale-watching. Southern Right and Humpback whales make their yearly migration to the waters off the coast of Augusta from June to September and around the Dunsborough area and Geographe Bay from September to December. Visitors delight in watching these majestic creatures frolicking and playing in their natural habitat.
