Set sail for an unforgettable 2 night Whitsunday cruise, through the Whitsunday Passage and past the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Experience modern small ship cruising aboard the Whitsunday Explorer with ocean view rooms, each with ocean-facing panoramic windows above water level and private ensuite bathrooms.

The Whitsunday Explorer can accommodate a maximum of 60 guests, allowing everyone to travel in comfort and style with spacious observation decks and a large airconditioned main saloon. All meals, morning tea and afternoon tea are included, prepared by your onboard chef as well as off-vessel excursions and tours. Visit the world famous Whitehaven Beach and wander along the shore, feeling the brilliant silica sands between your toes. Marvel at the stunning views at Hill Inlet Lookout and discover Indigenous rock wall paintings at Nara Inlet. There are chances to snorkel with local green turtles, visit Langford Island as well as kayak to Long Island.

Accommodation

Ocean View Private Ensuite Room: All rooms are outward-facing with wall-width panoramic windows above the waterline. Each room is individually air-conditioned and feature a wardrobe, desk and ensuite bathroom with a full-size shower and amenities. Room size is 14.5m². Bedding is King Bed OR Twin King Single.


Dining

The chef has created fresh seasonal menus showcasing local produce, cooked onboard and served buffet style. Enjoy your meals alfresco on the rear deck, observation desk or in the airconditioned main saloon. Breakfast includes a full hot and continental buffet breakfast served from 7.00am. Enjoy a light lunch with fresh salads, cured and house roasted cold meats, Queensland tiger prawns and cheeses with fresh wraps and rolls. Dinner includes starters, mains and desserts as well as a large selection of sides and salads.

Itinerary

Day 1: Set sail from Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach at 4.30pm sharp, passing through Molle Island group and across the Whitsunday passage. Whitsunday Explorer anchors at Cid Harbour for the evening, located between Cid Island and Whitsunday Island. Meet your fellow shipmates and enjoy a drink on the observation deck, before dinner in the main saloon with the Captain. An itinerary briefing for the upcoming days will follow.

Day 2: Wake up in the beautiful Whitsundays, starting the day with an alfresco breakfast on the upper observation deck or in the airconditioned main saloon. After breakfast, Whitsunday Explorer will drop anchor near Whitsunday Island to board their high-speed rigid inflatable Island Adventurer tender to transfer to the shimmering silica sands of the famous Whitehaven Beach to swim or walk at your leisure. Back on the Island Adventurer, cruise up to Tongue Bay and the Hill Inlet Lookout Track. Take an Instagram-worthy picture of the swirling sand and glorious blue waters. Return to the Whitsunday Explorer ship for lunch sailing to Hook Passage. Board the Island Adventurer again to explore Nara Inlet and view Indigenous ancient rock wall paintings of the Ngaro people. The final destination for the day is Langford Island, opposite Hayman Island - this is the perfect spot for snorkelling and catching a glimpse of a local green turtle. Cruise to Long Island to anchor for the night, enjoying a stunning sunset and dinner in the main saloon.

Day 3: Enjoy your final breakfast on the upper observation deck or in the main saloon. Take an early kayak with a crew member to explore Long island's shore, walking tracks at your own pace. Return to the ship for your return cruise back to Coral Sea Marina, arriving at 11.00am. The friendly crew will assist with disembarking and transferring your luggage to the Coral Sea Marina terminal building for collection.

Vessel Details

The Whitsunday Explorer is a 45 metre premium small ship with modern amenities and a range of features for a comfortable and relaxing 2 night cruise. There are a total of 30 rooms, an expansive 138m² upper observation deck offering 360 degree views with sun loungers.

Features: Airconditioned main saloon bar, restaurant & lounge, fully licensed bar with interior and exterior service, full onboard kitchen and servery, back sun deck, onboard TV, library and games, stable modern catamaran design and complimentary WiFi where coverage allows.

The Island Adventurer makes it easy and safe to access your off-vessel excursions and tours. The Whitsunday Explorer has a large hydraulic platform located on the vessel's stern. Once passengers have boarded the Island Adventurer, the platform is gently lowered into the water. The Island Adventurer has a capacity of 35 people and is equipped with roof shade, all-weather foldable side windows, beach landing steps and is powered by twin outboard engines.


Departures

Departs: Friday 4.30pm sharp from Coral Sea Marina (check in open from 3.00pm - 4.00pm)
Returns: Sunday 11.00am at Coral Sea Marina

Children: 13 years and over are welcome on this cruise year round and must be accompanied by a paying adult.
