Located further inland from the famous beaches of the coast, the Gold Coast Hinterland is one of the region’s many popular attractions renowned for its spectacular natural environment. Getting to the Gold Coast Hinterland is easy despite its secluded location, it’s just an easy drive less than an hour from the Gold Coast along Nerang Broadbeach Road, the Pacific Motorway and Tambourine Oxenford Road.
If you’re travelling down from Brisbane it will take you less than an hour by car heading south along the Pacific Motorway, Beenleigh Beaudesert Road and Mount Tambourine Road. If you’re heading up from Ballina, it’s approximately a 2 hour drive north along the Pacific Motorway and Tambourine Oxenford Road.
Within the Gold Coast Hinterland you’ll not only discover stunning Mount Tambourine, there’s also beautiful Binna Burra and the famous Lamington National Park along Nerang Murwillumbah Road. The Gold Coast Airport is also just under an hour away and is a convenient option for those visiting from overseas or interstate. Virgin Australia, Jetstar, Tiger Airways and Air New Zealand all operate direct services in and out of the Gold Coast and getting to the Gold Coast Hinterland is just a short drive along major roads.
Alternatively, there are a number of other transport options available for getting to the Gold Coast Hinterland from the airport including transfers, shuttles, taxis and car hire. The information desk in arrivals at the airport terminal can assist you in making arrangements for ongoing transport including the airport shuttle which offers door-to-door pick up and drop off from the airport and nearby Gold Coast Hinterland accommodation.
Although more expensive, taxis are also available from outside the terminal and offer a more comfortable and private transport option. The taxis will take you wherever you want to go and allow you to enjoy the picturesque scenery on the way to the Gold Coast Hinterland. If you prefer to have your own transport while visiting, there are also a number of car hire companies available at the terminal.
