How To Get To Maroochydore

Located just under an hour and a half north of Brisbane, getting to Maroochydore is easy thanks to its central location in the heart of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Situated approximately 98km north of the state capital, Maroochydore is connected by a number of major highways including the Bruce Highway.

Getting to Maroochydore takes approximately one hour and 20 minutes by car from Brisbane travelling north along the Bruce Highway. When you reach Sippy Downs, take the exit to the Sunshine Motorway before turning off at Sugar Road and continuing on to Maud Street which you will follow into the centre of town. There are lots of great coastal towns and scenery on the way to Maroochydore so be sure to leave yourself enough time if you plan to stop off at any of these.

The Sunshine Coast Airport is conveniently located in Marcoola, just 10 minutes north of Maroochydore and is serviced by a number of airlines offering direct flights between Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Flights between Sydney and Maroochydore take approximately an hour and a half while flights between Melbourne and Maroochydore taking around 2 and a half hours.

Getting to Maroochydore by coach or bus is also an excellent, affordable and easy option if you won’t have your own car or just want to sit back and enjoy the scenery while someone else takes care of the driving. There are a number of bus and coach services operating along the Bruce Highway through Nambour with connecting services into Marchoochydore taking approximately 20 minutes. There are also local bus services that operate throughout town and to and from the Sunshine Coast Airport.

Getting to Maroochydore can also been done by train with frequent services stopping at Nambour and regular bus connections into Maroochydore.
