The tour starts from the town of Manapouri where you will cruise across Lake Manapouri before taking to the road aboard a coach through the Wilmot Pass which is covered in dense rainforest before the glistening Doubtful Sound can be seen. Upon arriving at Doubtful Sound you will embark on a 3 hour cruise through the fiord. During the time speny in Doubtful Sound, you may see a wide variety of wildlife including the rare Fiorland crested penguin, fur seas and bottlenose dolphins. Note: Manapouri is a 2.5-3 hour drive from Queenstown or 30 minutes from Te Anau. All cruises depart from the Manapouri Visitor Centre. Due to floating wharf access and multiple transport legs, a moderate level of mobility is required
