Sapa sits high in the mountains near the Chinese border and can be reached by overnight train (8-9 hours) or a 5-6 hour drive. The train journey is scenic and comfortable, while private cars are faster if you're short on time.

How do I get to Central Vietnam?

Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue

Central Vietnam is served by Da Nang International Airport (DAD), a modern hub with excellent domestic and international connections.

Hoi An is about 45 minutes by car from Da Nang. As Hoi An doesn't have its own airport, flying into Da Nang and arranging a private or shared transfer is the easiest option.

Hue is roughly 2 hours by car or 2.5 hours by train from Da Nang. Hue also has a small domestic airport with flights from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Da Nang itself offers beachfront resorts just 15 minutes from the airport, making it a convenient destination for those seeking a beach holiday with easy access.

How do I get to South Vietnam?

Southern Vietnam's main entry point is Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, located 20 to 40 minutes from the city centre depending on traffic.

The Mekong Delta begins just 1.5 to 2 hours from Ho Chi Minh City in My Tho, with larger towns like Can Tho around 3 to 4 hours away. This region is famous for Mekong River cruises and floating markets.
