Second visit to an epic resort. I'm staying at a different resort right now and it is nowhere near castaway. Do yourself a favour and book this resort, you won't be disappointed
We recommend Castaway for a relaxing holiday. Nothing is too much trouble for the amazing staff. Castaway provides activities for those who want to participate and quiet time for those who don't. The facilities are second to none. Sota tale

We went as a family of 4 with two kids under 12 and the staff were so friendly and accommodating to us!
We've stayed at other islands in Fiji previously and we found Castaway was one of the better family resorts and has something for everyone!
The resort is spacious, the dining & food is delicious, the views are stunning,
the pools were big to have distance between other guests, the beach and water sport activities were fun.
It was sad to leave paradise! We gave it a 10/10 experience and we will definitely be back!

Cons: Very expensive, bures infested with bugs/ants of some kind, main pool area was left with dirty glasses.

First time at Castaway Island and first family holiday with our 19 month old. We could not have picked a better place!! Not only was the resort beautiful, the staff were absolutely amazing. They continuously took care of us and loved our son which was so nice to see. Isaac especially looked after us and made our experience even better. I can see why people constantly return to this place. It's amazing, you need to book it asap! We will definitely be returning :)
The staff at Castaway were completely amazing and could not do enough for us. They were friendly and remembered everyone's name, which was amazing with so many people at the resort.
The cultural night was fantastic and gave everyone an insite in to the Fiji history and the history of Castaway. The dancers were amazing!

This was the fourth time we have stayed at Castaway over the years and our first since COVID. I am happy to say that Castaway still has the charm! Kids club was great - with Mickey, Shrek, Cinderella and Rapunzel fast becoming my sons favourite people! The food was excellent especially our fabulous night at 1808. A special shout out to Joe, Paul and Craig for helping us through our Diving journey and to all those who took the big girls on numerous donut and banana boat rides! Vinaka to the whole Castaway crew!
Thanks Castaway for another amazing trip. There is nothing we could fault. The extra little surprises in our Bure were fabulous. The food, the dives, all the staff, the massages, the bure and activities everything was fabulous ! Vinaka see you next year

Castaway Island is always magic! It was my fourth trip and although it was monsoon season we had an amazing holiday.
We had the most amazing time staying here with the kids. We loved everything about it, accommodation, food, service, snorkeling, outer reef tour, sunset cruise, banana boat ride, night snorkeling were just spectacular.
My only comment is location of the airconditioner in the south bures we're located high on the back wall not centred to the room which means I was nice and cool when sleeping as it was blowing on me. My husband and kids were not feeling the cool air as much although room was still cool

A beautiful island with many different things to do for all ages. We loved the snorkeling, diving and swimming. The Bure was fabulous, and the Fiji staff were so so lovely. A perfect family holiday. I can see why they have a big return rate.
There are a number of resorts in Fiji that offer Bure accomodation but the quality of facilities and activities on Castaway was to a very high standard. The North Beach Bure was close to all facilities and had amazing views all day. All Garden Bure have the same high standard furnishings, but it was nice to watch the reflection of the moon off the water with a quiet drink at the end of a big day. 2 kids and 2 adults fitted perfectly but there were trundle beds for more kids as well.
All staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Ben in the dive shop. There were plenty of activities to do for all ages but also plenty of opportunities to lay in a hammock and read a book.
The food was fantastic, a large variety every meal with choice of buffet or a la carte and Happy Hour was a highlight each day.
Highly recommend and would go back in an instant!
Just returned from our 16th trip to Castaway. It is as beautiful as ever. everything about the place is just perfect. It has to be the one and only place In the world I feel compleyely relaxed the minute my feet touch the sand. Can't wait to return next year.
Had an amazing, relaxing five days away reconnecting with the family. Castaway Island is indeed a magical place and we can't wait to get back there. The staff were amazing, the kids club was fantastic. The only thing that let it down was the service at dinner, but we quickly learned to do the buffet and then that didn't become an issue. We just needed to learn to relax into 'fiji time' :)

Absolutely excellent 7 days, thoroughly enjoyed by 8 members of an extended family in three separate bures. Really good value for money, wonderful dining and drink options, excellent menu choices and wide variety of recreational options, especially for young kids. The staff were outgoing, very attentive and extremely kind. This was an experience that we shall never forget. Go on! Spoil yourself with a week on Castaway Island.
The Management and Staff on Castaway Island are just exceptional. Everything from the arrival to departure was a seamless experience. The Dining options are amazing, and the wait staff and chefs were beyond expectations, the housekeeping immaculate and attention to detail is second to none, such a beautiful touch to our Bure every day. The daily activities were fabulous to join in with and the team doing those were just incredible, and to the water sports team, you are fantastic. Thank you to all on Castaway Island for making our holiday such a special and memorable time and we will see you all again soon
Will not stay anywhere else when visiting Fiji islands
Castaway Resort Fiji was a really special holiday. From the minute we arrived the team at Castaway were so friendly, and helpful. The room was beautiful, very clean and comfortable, lots of Fijian touches made it very special. The snorkelling and activities were great. We loved our time here and will be back.

Pros - Most of the staff were fantastic! 5 star location Beautiful beach with great snorkelling. Easy access to watersports equipment, room service every day, intimate feel, great kids club. Food and cocktails pretty good.
Cons - Some of the Food portions a bit small for the expensive price, couldn't buy any fruit or bread at the shop, some cultural entertainment at night would have been great.
Overall, we loved it and would definitely recommend.
Absolutely loved our stay at Castaway. We were blown away by the incredible hospitality of the Fijian staff who run the island. Friendly, efficient, nothing was too much trouble. We not only had our beds made each day, but had a full service of our Bure, clean bathrooms, floors, entrance.
Accommodation was gorgeous. So many fabulous activities. The resort is really well set up with loads of kayaks, snorkeling gear, Hobie's, tours, boats.. kids club was really well run.
Resort is spread out, peaceful and the perfect size to be able to get away from crowds. Always a sunlounge or hammock available somewhere.
Kid friendly, but also lots of couples and people with much older kids.
Couldn't recommend Castaway Island more highly!
We stayed for one week and everything was amazing. The kids more than 3 years old can go and play at the Kids Club. The staff are lovely, caring super helpful all the time. The hotel is excellent, the food incredible every day. We did massages too and it was amazing. The prices are good considering the remote island. Only 45/50 minutes by boat from the Harbour.

Friendly welcoming service and gorgeous relaxed island atmosphere. Great for families, we have two teenagers and this property suited us. The kids take over the pools - if anything could be improved I would say another 3rd pool for adults would be well utilised. This resort caters well for families with little kids to teens.

We love Castaway and everyone who works there. It's a beautiful happy place where you feel very relaxed. It is a place for families where children absolutely adore the kids club (which is exceptional) and adults get to relax quietly whilst knowing they're having a ball. There's plenty to do for a week or so and it's just so relaxing. There is a new chef, last few weeks and changes are happening with the menu. We felt the menu was already improved on the previous year. Unfortunately for us the sushi has stopped, I believe, whilst they set up an improved sushi offering. For our stay though this was a shame. We love the food and definitely feel it's better than many of the Fiji resorts. We love Castaway and in particular feel that the meals package takes away the worry of the bill at the end. Very very relaxing.
First trip to Fiji with the family and so glad we chose to stay on castaway island . Transfers from Denarau port were exceptional organised and on time . The boat across was clean comfortable and quick . From the moment you arrive the staff put you at ease and Go out if there way to make your stay at castaway unforgettable. Only suggestion would be to have another pool option to choose from as only kiddies pool and adult pool . No pool for 8 yr to teen .
Such a Beautiful Island off the mainland . Gorgeous Friendly staff that look after you so well. Delicious food , a variety of restaurants to choose from , the meal plan is a must & great value ! If you want an island that is not busy , secluded beaches with no one on them then this is for you . You can do a lot around the Island , great Snorkelling , kayaking, paddle boarding , bush walks , jet skis , glass bottom boats , tours etc or do nothing at all ☀️

We had 5 days at Castaway with a 2 year old and a 4 year old. It is such a beautiful place, the kids had a ball and the staff were wonderful. Would recommend for families with kids.
The Castaway was a fantastic place to stay. Accommodation was amazing set in beautiful gardens and bushland. Staff were so friendly and accommodating. The were so good with the kids and treated us all like family.

This was the fourth time we’ve stayed at Castaway and we can not fault it. The staff are beyond friendly and take the time to get to know your name and ask about your day - at some resorts this can feel forced but at Castaway they are genuine. The rooms are clean, Fijian style and the bed is so comfortable. The food is AMAZING - from the wood fired pizzas, to the a la carte menu at Waters Edge, to the buffet, to 1808! The meal plan is a must. So many activities to choose from - you can be as relaxed or as adventurous as you like. The kids pool is fantastic for kids of all ages and the adults pool with swim up bar is fantastic. The beach is beautiful and the water so clear. We also used baby sitters and kids club this year and felt so comfortable with staff and leaving our 3yo there - she hates preschool but LOVED kids club - they’re definitely doing it right!
Initially Castaway can seem a little more expensive, but there are so many free activities there (that you’d pay for at other resorts) and the meal plan is excellent value and saves you $$. We loved Castaway and will be back again and again.
A stunning location with very friendly staff that want to ensure your stay is amazing. Food is fantastic and a high quality. The kids love the kids club and the staff are so enthusiastic. Have visited twice with my family and we plan to return again.
This is our fourth time back to Castaway island which speak volumes in itself we always have the best time the people couldn't be more friendly, the food is excellent and it was great for the kids. The beach activities are great and the kids club wine can be a little pricey but it always is on the islands so maybe pick a few bottles up from the airport or mainland before you travel out. We got the direct transfer to the island which I also highly recommend as we were there in 20 minutes as appose to the South Sea cruises which can be 2 hours. Highly recommend report and holiday!
Wish we had stayed longer and been able to do more. Time seemed to slip away as we relaxed by the pool, sipped cocktails and participated in all the activities.
Very friendly atmosphere for all who visited and geared towards families, with activities and kids club.
All who visit her shore will enjoy there stay.

This holiday far exceeded our expectations and we all enjoyed a magnificent and relaxing holiday, although there was so much on offer to do. The staff were amazing and genuine in getting to know us and met all our needs. The facilities and food were outstanding and we cannot wait to return.
This was our second stay at Castaway and it was amazing as always. Highly recommend for families - the kids club and entertainment is second to none. We stayed in a beach front bure and woke up to amazing views every day. The staff were better than fantastic and nothing is ever too much trouble. Food was fantastic, but very expensive. Try to book when meals are included in your package (not school holidays obviously) as food and drink are expensive.

What a completely amazing part of the world! I’m so glad we decided to go to Castaway and not stay on the mainland, a great way to introduce the kids to snorkeling, kayaking etc. The people were gorgeous and we will definitely go back!!!

We a family of 4 with a 3yo and 12yo who thoroughly enjoyed our time at Castaway. Weather was perfect and beach great for young kids. Our 3yo loved the kids club and the Fijians were very welcoming. Recommend the jetski tour/snorkelling. Food very good compared to other 4-5 star resorts we have stayed at on the mainland Vinaka Castaway

I took my two adult sons, my eldest's wife and their 3 sons aged 9, 7 and 5. We all had a marvelous time and have already booked for next year. The friendly Fijians were so good with the children making it possible for their parents to relax and have a holiday too.

This is our second time to Castaway. It's like coming home!! Such a relaxing place! You feel it the moment you arrive. Meal options And quality was great. Love this place.
After 6 nights in Denarau we were looking forward to a change of scenery at Castaway Island. From the moment we stepped off the boat and onto the beach we were made to feel welcome. The resort itself is very well maintained and we found the staff to be even more friendly than on the mainland. The pristine waters surrounding the island are perfect for snorkelling and swimming - there are some great fish to see just metres from the shore. The bures contain everything you need and are reasonably spacious and beautifully decorated. There are a number of food options and we found the meal plan to be great value. The kids generally eat between 5.30 & 6.30 then disappear off to the kids club for an evening of fun while the adults enjoy their dInner. The big stand out for us was the restaurant 1808 - a dine in the sand experience . The food and service was outstanding. The Sundowner Bar is a great place to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset while the pool bar and grill is a great option for lunch with the kids. Everyone is made to feel like part of the family at Castaway. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our time there and will definitely return. Absolute bliss!

A brilliant place to relax and spend time with family. Our kids - 6 and 3 - loved the kids club (said it was the best part of the whole holiday). All the staff were amazing; friendly, remembered our names, always stopping to give the kids high 5s. The ocean is beautiful and warm, swam in it everyday day (we were there in June). If travelling with kids, aim to be there on a Wednesday to join in the cultural night (a must!). Would have liked to have had more vegetarian options on the menus. Only problem was I got so used to saying 'Bula' to everyone on the island that I kept saying it to random strangers when we got back to Australia :-)
Highly recommend Castaway Island.
It was our first big Overseas trip with our 3 kids (aged 11,9,7 years). Staff are super friendly and helpful - typical of Fijians. Almost everything is included. Food is fantastic. There are lots of daily activities. The traditional Fijian Cultural day that happens every Wednesday was a highlight as was the trip to Malolo Island to visit the local community and school (additional cost). We took some stationary supplies for them which was much appreciated.
Our Bure was great - we has a family Beach Bure. Next time, I would probably get a garden Bure which is cheaper and still only metres from the ocean.
Food - amazing. They cater for vegetarians/allergies on request but we found the choice was so great we didn't need this option.
Staff - Awesome. Completely friendly and helpful without being overbearing.
We caught the Sea Plane to and from the island which was money well spent as you essentially get an extra day on the island (plane trip is 15 minutes, boat ride can be up to 3 hours depending on conditions and number of stops on the way). After an overnight flight it was great to be on the island by 8.30am!
Fantastic holiday for the family, although there were lots of couples. Kids loved it, as did we. Kids spent most of the time in the water. Highly recommend Castaway. We will be back!
The 4 hour flight to Fiji is another plus.....not too long, and again the care of Fijian air staff is wonderful.
Weather and swimming was perfect.
Friendly, Fun & heaps to do, or do nothing, it is just a great spot. Staff are great & helpful. Pass to Happiness is a must (just make sure you get it when you check in), snorkeled most of the time, swan in pool, had a few cocktails, pizzas were fantastic in the Sundowner bar, kids can roam free as nothing motorised on the island that they can run in front of. Village tour was great, saw heaps of dolphins on the tour, caught a few fish on the handline & saw a shark or two at the outer reef snorkel tour! Went outside school holidays which meant the resort was not booked out so plenty of space on the beach or in the restaurants. Until next time, Vinaka!
Love this resort -only TV in the resort is in the Sundowner Bar , beautiful beach, good snorkeling from the beach, food plan very good, great pizzas in the Sundowner Bar and restaurant 1808 very good (weather permitting) ,staff so friendly, bures very well fitted out, good size - excellent bathroom and comfy king size bed and very clean. The wine list is not great - could use some additions.

Castaway Island is an amazing family holiday destination. Gorgeous sandy beaches with the option to do everything or nothing. Water sports such as jetskiing, banana boating, dolphin watching, scuba diving, fishing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, snorkelling, catermaraning, or simply laying in the sun reading a good book, sipping on a cocktail if you like.
A very relaxing holiday with nannies available to mind the little ones should you want a couple of hours RnR (Fijians LOVE babies and look after them like they are their own!) or kids club for children 3+ where the kids learn about Fijian culture with games, craft and dancing.
The staff are incredible, friendly and warm natuted. They always remember your name and make you feel like nothing is too much trouble. They are by far the reason Castaway is such a fabulous holiday experience.
Thanks to 'Fiji time' a week in Fiji feels like 2, and without a doubt Castaway is our best family holiday yet!

Island life at its best - could choose to sleep in or be up early participating in scuba diving and surfing.All Food including buffet and A la carte was wonderful. A very relaxing holiday from start to finish.
It was aimed more at families, with a children's dinner hour and kids club.
We enjoyed our holiday immensely, but apart from the water activities - there wasn't much there for older teenagers to do - especially after dinner.

Following Cyclone Winston early in 2016 a significant effort was undertaken to have Castaway up and operational to a very high standard by June. November saw Castaway's 50th Years of operation being celebrated and it was just fantastic to be here for the week of the celebrations.
Our Bure had been completely remodeled to a very high standard. The staff are just the most fabulous people and are extremely pleasant, friendly and courteous.
As there was additional functions for the 50th celebration we had extra meals in the Lovo pit area where bars were set up, beautiful seafood was served,and fabulous treats for desserts. There was dancing , a special Meke Dance for Castaway. Just the best week imaginable. Can't wait to get back. The temperature was 30-31 daily, the water warm and crystal clear. It is a paradise just beckoning you to arrive and enjoy a holiday

A destination that guarantees to please everyone! It ticked all the boxes - friendly staff that you won't find anywhere else, stunning location for reef snorkeling and swimming, great choices of restaurants and beautiful, large private bures. The kids club is great for kids under 8 years so it would be great to see Castaway add a Teen/Older Kids Club.
Castaway was a fantastic place to holiday. Time literally seemed to slow down from the minute we got to the island. We were met by the Castaway team on the beach with music & singing - and check in was done with a drink in the dining area. Our package included all meals and there was plenty of choice for food options every day. We stayed in a beachfront Bure & I highly recommend this option, as waking to the crystal blue water every day was a definite highlight. Sunsets on the island are absolutely amazing.
We were also lucky enough to be part of Castaway's 50th anniversary celebrations & all guests received a t-shirt, sarong & engraved glass paperweight as part of the festivities, as well as a wonderful cocktail party on the beach. The staff were absolutely beautiful to everyone and always cheerful. There were too many highlights to list them all. I desperately needed a relaxing holiday and this certainly ticked all boxes for me. I can't recommend this destination enough - it's perfect for families and couples. Don't miss it - it's the holiday of a lifetime.
Went there for honeymoon. Stayed there for 8 days. After the 3rd day, you completely unwind. Overheard kids say that they wanted to go to the kids club coz it was fun. The staff know all the kids name. 5 star rooms / friendliness / location. Taking extended family next year!!!

I would recommend getting the meal plan as buying meals separately would be costly.
The staff are very friendly and daughter loved kids club.
You can do as little or all the activities available with free hire of paddle board, sea kayak, snorkelling equipment and Catarmaran to use to explore the island. Amazing snorkelling on your doorstep and scuba diving sites only a 15min boat ride away.
Our family (including 2 boys of 5 and 8) had a wonderful stay at Castaways. The outlook from the main restaurant & reception & beach area is amazing - the water is all shades if blue and turquoise and in between. We had a garden bure which was lovely and worked quite well not withstanding us all being in the one hut - usually we try and arrange a 2bdm unit on holidays. The food was great - buffet breakfasts and some dinners, also some a la carte lunches and dinners which were lovely. Kids club was good for a couple of hours a night on 2 nights - great to have a quiet dinner and kids were happy too. We used the kayaks, paddle boards and catamarans which was great fun with the kids. Would definately return !

The team on Castaway were amazing and made us feel at home immediately. We loved all the music and happy faces. The food was always a great standard, and our two girls thoroughly enjoyed the kids club. We snorkelled on the outer reef and it was stunning, and during a glass-bottomed boat ride we were treated to a display from a pod of dolphins which was an extra treat! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting the other guests, and our daughters made lots of new friends. Our only tiny negative was that due to the size and set-up of the Bure, there was not a lot of privacy inside with a family of four! This would not stop us returning though. We are trying to work out how to take all our friends and family there!!

The food was tasty and fresh. Never had one complaint on any dish during the entire week..... a first for us.
Management and Staff are always there to help with a smile and genuinely love being on Castaway - most have been there for 5 years plus - with no intentions of leaving - says a lot in itself.

We've stayed at Castaway Island before, some years ago when it was aimed more at couples and we loved it. This time is was clearly more focused on families which suited us having our kiddo with us. Highly recommend for families but i'd give it a mis if you're looking for a quiet, intimate getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Castaway Island. Our three children aged 9,6 and 5 also had a lot of fun. The service by the staff was terrific at all times, in the restaurants, by the pool, on the beach, nothing was ever a problem. Two things that would make it even better are firstly, extending the wifi so it can be accessed by both pools, ideally on the island side as well near the kayaking etc. Secondly, the kids club was better suited to the two younger kids, our 9 year old needed more physical activities such as the kayaking, volleyball and touch rugby on the beach and as a result, stayed with us most the time. The evening activities were fine though.
Castaway Island is the perfect South Pacific get away for families. A beautiful location, friendly staff and high quality food. Water activities are great or you can just relax by the pools and the beaches. Highly recommended.

This resort is perfect for families but as 3 adults with little to do with children we probably should have chosen somewhere restricted to adults. That's not a fault of Castaway Resort but our lack of research. Only real complaint was cost of food. The package is a good deal only because all food is overpriced & there is no alternative. On the positive side the situation is idyllic and the staff amazing. They are so helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

This was our families second trip to Castaway and did not disappoint. The work they have done on the resort and the dinners were wonderful. Such a lovely spot for snorkelling, relaxing and getting away from the hustle and bustle!

Great family getaway, I would come back, the kids really connected to the people and location better than the larger resort chains. Staff seemed genuinely happy and friendly and very accommodating. Good choice of things to do and price of activities / spa costs more reasonable than the chain resorts.
The castaway staff were amazing. The coral reef was great. The meal plan - too much food with three meals a day, would prefer next time to have breakfast and dinner only included if possible...with fruit, snacks and water throughout the day.
Have been to Fiji four times and staying at Castaway Island has been our family favourite so far. Beautiful views, friendly staff and food was excellent ( 5 stars). Great relaxed atmosphere such as dining without shoes on. Snorkeling on reef was good.

Beautiful gardens surrounding the Resort, nice food, a lot of nautical activities to do in Castaway. I recommend the 3 hours jetski tour.
I would thoroughly recommend Castaway Island for a wonderful and relaxing holiday. The Castaway Island staff are very friendly and very helpful and will go out of their way to ensure your stay is a true holiday. This is our sixth holiday on the island and we will continue to holiday on Castaway Island. The staff make an effort to get to know you and will remember your name when you return.
This was our 2nd trip to Castaway and it was like a homecoming -everybody was lovely - they all remembered us and as returning guest we were made to feel so special. We go in Nov because it is quieter but i'm sure if we went during a busier time we would be made to feel just the same - all the staff from senior management down to the porters were just lovely and caring - i cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Castaway was amazing. The moment we arrived we felt relaxed. They greeted us with song and a cocktail and were very organised. The snorkeling was lovely straight from the beach and there was a lot to do on the island (walks, hill climbs, snorkeling,stand-up paddling, kayaking). Maybe not a convenient as some other islands for surfing, but it was still possible. The staff were all friendly and relaxed, and the nanny we had (Lina) was fantastic. She was friendly, caring and very active in playing with the kids.
Our Castaway Island stay in October 2014 was an excellent, relaxing experience. Travelling as a couple with another family there was plenty of fun things to do for kids. Facilities great and food was magnificent! Staff are terrific and some of the friendliest and helpful I have met. Thanks again!

What can we say...what a holiday. Castaway is a brilliant island with brilliant service, the food was excellent and the activities were so much fun. There is absolutely nothing but praise for this property.
Our kids enjoyed their first overseas trip - it was nice to get them away from the screened devices! The staff at Castaway were friendly and the food was quite good - restaurant 1808 was outstanding. A nice quiet property and not too crowded.
Amazing escape from all earthly cares. Any conceivable areas of stress or tension have been removed at Castaway.

A beautiful escape from the mainland of Fiji. The snorkeling was fantastic. A perfect balance of activities for the children and quiet time for parents. Lovely staff! Would definitely return.
Wonderful location, very friendly staff, food was so much better than we expected. Buffet breakfast was always fresh and there was always lots of food and options. Having a few options for lunch and dinner was great, eating by the pool for lunch was easy for the kids, all they had to do was get out of the pool and eat! Dinner options were great - lovely wood fired pizza in the Sundowner bar, different buffet theme every night as well as the a la carte menus at lunch and dinner. Great variety.
The service was very nice, all the staff were friendly and looked after us and the kids very well. We were quite surprised at how quick the service was, considering everyone is on 'fiji time'.
Kids club was fantastic and our kids had such a great time and make some nice little friends.
Our oceanview bure was clean and comfortable, serviced daily, fans and aircon.

Kids club was great for the kids, food was lovely. We had the meal plan and it was great.
Soft drinks a little expensive, I would suggest maybe offering a drinks package too.
Great location as it has 2 sides to the Island incase of windy weather, the other side was protected.
Room was spacious and very clean. Service was great, overall a wonderful stay!

Great place, with families with younger children particularly well catered for. A few minor issues stopped me from giving it a five but nothing all that important in the bigger picture.

WOW were do we start, love the island,love the people, we wouldn't change a thing.....except the amount of time spent there.....nextime we will stay 2 or 3 weeks, one week is just not enough time.
Excellent resort for families or couples. Meal package outstanding, beach and facilities beautiful. They cater for kids extremely well and allow adults to have time with or without kids.
Both adults and children loved Castaway Island. The food, accommodation, pools, kids club, staff and the island in General were great.
This resort is fantastic. Cannot recommend it highly enough. The Bures were beautiful, clean and well kept. The staff were so friendly and helpful and customer service was exceptional. The food was good and the chefs were great even when told about food allergy nothing was a problem. Would definitely go back.
We are a family of 5 and Castaway definitely knows how to look after such a family. It is the perfect getaway from work, mobile phones and tv. If you love diving there are plenty of dive sites to visit and the dive crew are an awesome bunch who will ensure you see plenty of sea life.
Our children whom are still young (8, 7 and 4) enjoyed the island run Kids Club almost every day.
The snorkelling right off the main beach is great to check out the coral etc. We enjoyed taking the kids on snorkelling adventures there.

This was the most amazing holiday to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The stay was in a traditional Fijian bure, surrounded by coconut palms, tropical plants, sand and crystal clear waters. I cannot praise the staff, the quality of the food & cocktails, or the location enough! It was magical!

This was our second stay at Castaway Island. The new family pool is a great addition. The fijians on the island really make the holiday. They are friendly, helpful and always happy.

Castaway island has some of the best snorkelling I've see around the world and its only about a 20 meter swim from the beach. With there new swim up ( adults only ) pool bar and there kids pool you can't go wrong with pool options. Babysitting and kids club amazing!!!! These guys know what kids of all ages want. Room prices are a bit high but with all of the amenities, outdoor activities a and meal plan options this is one of the best Fiji Island we have been to. This was our second time back and would not hesitate in going back once a year.
Absolute paradise. Castaway is the heart and soul of Fiji. If you want to experience island life, then come here. There is no tv/phones and most people walk around barefoot. You can do as much or little as you want. The island is like a movie set. Coconut trees, white sand and clear blue water. The staff were amazing, outstanding kids clubs and great nannies. Food was also high quality and caters for gluten free/allergies. I would recommend the meal plan which is great value. ( Go to Chef Lance Seeto 1808 restaurant). We are already planning our next trip back
What a consistently great reputation.We stayed for our honeymoon in Feb 1974. Was great then and looks great now. Fond memories of the very friendly local staff that were extremely helpful.

We went to Castaway for a Family Wedding. Were very impressed overall and had a great time with the family.
Castaway Island was the ultimate famiy holiday for myself, my husband and our 3 children. The facilities are fantastic including the two pools, the Kids Club, restaurants, bars and water activities. The staff cannot do enough for the guests. We all left the island feeling relaxed and rejuvinated.
Simply as good as it gets, a dream location with stunning views, good bures, great food and amazing staff.
The only bad thing about Castaway is having to leave! It is such an amazing resort and the staff take it to the next level by offering superior service. You are on first name basis with them by your second day.
Whether your travelling as a family, a couple or a group of friends you will have yourself a fantastic time. There's so much to see and do you will not be disappointed. Or if you prefer to just chill out in a hammock there's plenty of those too.
The resort is looking superb after the massive clean up they had to do after the cyclone. Beautifully lush and green.
The food is top class and the bar tenders get your cocktail order right every time.

To most of the staff there, your just a number passing through.
Apart from the staff it was a paradise .

A great island and a pleaseant stay. A faultless holiday (apart from when the 'Teivovo' speedboat sank).
Only 2 minor oportunities to make it better:-
1. The staff at the aquatic centre weren't as relaxed and freindly as the rest of the staff (apart from Jerry).
2. The kids club was great, but for younger kids -less than 6yo. During our staff none of the older kids didn't spend much time in kids club and stayed with their parents on the beach or in the pool :-(
Paying for a meal plan is also a good idea as much of the food is pricey ($29FD for a 10 cm Californian Roll).
Great facilities, you can choose to do add much or as little as you like. Staff are amazingly friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Kids club and nanny service great too.
Buree had no full height wall between bathroom and living areas. See through door as well. Hear and smell the bathroom and toilet everytime used. Room always dark, no cleaning products used in bathroom just mop and water. All things catered to families. Needs major refurb and new buree design. Put a ceiling on the bathroom to stop the unpleasantness.
Castaway island resort is a beautiful place with great staff. My family and I had a fabulous holiday and would not hesitate to return.
As ever, Castaway was fantastic. It was the first time I visited with children and the staff were really helpful, everybody really enjoyed their stay.

For my first visit to Fiji, I was recommended this island resort and I'm very glad we went with it. Beautiful island location with great food (on the meal plan), plenty to do (snorkeling was great and took up most of our time). The staff are very friendly and helpful. Probably worth getting a bure closer to the beach for next time as we were set deeper in-land but other than that everything was great and will definitely be returning.
I had heard that Castaway Island Resort was a great place for a family holiday and yet I was still totally amazed at how nice it actually was once I got there. From the moment we arrived we felt we were in a very special place. I particularly like the balance they have achieved with the feeling of a traditional Fijian village while still having modern resort facilities. You really get a feeling like you are away from the modern world but still have all the comfort you expect in a top class resort. The food was absolutely wonderful and we are so glad we had the full meal package. Snorkelling the reef straight off the beach is an incredible experience and we felt like we could have done that about another thousand times. Our kids totally loved being there and even though there was no TV they didn't miss it at all. I could go on and on and the more I think about it the more I want to go back there.
This was my first time on an overseas holiday and I have to say I had the best time ever. Going to Fiji works out to be so much cheaper than I thought, the value for money is much better than going up the coast.
Everything was perfect from the service, weather, food, and very friendly and helpful staff.
Snorkelling less than 50m from our room was amazing as we got to see all sorts of fish, and colourful coral.
I can't wait to go back to Fiji for my next holiday and would be very tempted to just go back to Castaway Island again.
