We had an enjoyable 8 nights at Sunprime Kamala Beach.
The resort is about a 45min drive from Phuket airport and the private aircon transfers were on time and professional.
The room provided was on the ground floor and conveniently located to the two dining areas and pools.
The room was a good size for 2 people and had good sized balcony overlooking the garden. It was clean and cool on arrival. The cleaning staff did a good job of replacing towels and restocking drinking water, etc.
The room safe was ample size to fit our valuables and we felt safe and secure in the room and throughout the whole resource and surrounding areas beaches and shops.
The only issues with room is the aircon fan was loud (even on the low setting). We got used to it after a couple of nights. The shower floor was not draining properly as the drain outlet was not at the lowest point, so it left a large puddle.
The breakfast options are very good, but most cooked items are luke warm as they are not in a bain-marie. The soup station is nice as they boil your selection of noodle, meat and vegetables on the spot.
Freshly made omelettes are also available.
We preferred the pool side eating are for breakfast as it had better options to the seaside one.
Lunch and dinner option at the resort are extensive but the western meals are higher than the local eateries.
The dinner buffet at the pool side restaurant is 699 baht + 7% VAT per person excluding drinks. We ate there once and the food was nice, but honestly the same meals could be had a local eatery for a lot less.
Most time we ate lunch and dinner elsewhere.
We were shocked at the cost of most of the lobster in Phuket. It was around 3000 baht (AUD$130) per kg.
Back in Australia it is only about $100-$120 per kg.
Other seafood e.g. crab, prawn and squid is also expensive.
Local fish is usually not as pricey and other seafood.
The swim-up bar at the pool is nicely shaded and offers drinks at 'reasonable' prices but usually 30% more than local eateries, but beer is a lot cheaper at 7-Eleven if you want to drink in your room, etc
We found most staff could speak some English, but struggled with questions regarding explaining the menu items, etc.
Check-in and check-out were very straight-forward.
Note:
This is a huge resort with nearly 500 rooms. A staff member told us this time of year is the low season and only 30-50% occupancy. In the peak months of Dec-Jan there will be about 1,000 people (mostly European) and it's a whole different vibe.
They said the breakfast is packed from 6am to 11am!
I can only imagine what the pools would be like too.
In summary, we enjoyed our time here and would come back again in the low season to avoid the crowds, etc.

The facilities are amazing, well kept. Gardens gorgeous, breakfast sensational. Restaurant meals/drinks awesome and waitstaff the best, friendly & knowledgeable, shout out to Son, Nae and Puanpet, they all went above and beyond to make us comfortable.
Location of the resort is brilliant, walk onto a stunning beach, loads of local restaurants nearby.
