We stayed in the 2 bedroom lake front apartment. The apartment was spacious and clean with a well equipped kitchen - perfect for a family of 4. The views were amazing! There is a free shuttle bus to/from town. We mostly ate dinner in town, lunch on the mountain but cooked breakfast in the apartment. There is a restaurant too. The position of this resort is between Frankton town and Queenstown so the lake view is 180 degrees and with a car it is 5 mins drive to both towns and accessible to both Coronet Peak or Remarkables ski resorts if you wish to drive. This apartment felt like a home away from home. I would highly recommend it.
Booked as part of small skiing package. This is not really a ski friendly hotel. It is about 25 minutes walk, 5 minute drive from the centre of town so not easy to get into town in evening. Yes, there is a free shuttle service but only till 9pm so long walk or taxi back after.
On arrival, found the bedside lamp bulb to be broken. Informed reception but nothing happened for an hour. Found a spare lamp in the hall outside so changed the bulb myself, leaving the broken bulb beside the hallway lamp. This stayed there for 5 days. Room door did not close well due to loose draught excluder. Often on return to room at end of day, the door had not been properly closed by the cleaning staff.
The view of the lake was incredibly minimal between the end of the building and the adjacent wall. We did not eat in the hotel so have only given 3 stars. Looked nice but seemed expensive
Having said all this, the individual staff that we met were delightful and a pleasure to chat with.
