Overview
Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji is set in a stunning tropical oasis on its very own 109 acre island, connected to the mainland of Viti Levu by a causeway. This Fiji accommodation features a lush lagoon with abundant coral and marine life, tropical gardens, pristine beaches and spectacular ocean views making it a true Fiji holiday favourite.
Approximately 60 minutes from Nadi's International Airport, Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji is off the main island of Fiji's Coral Coast. With a layout influenced by traditional Fijian villages, the resort reflects an authentic Fiji island experience. Each room either faces the sheltered lagoon or open ocean with garden or water views.
There is so much to see and do at this Fiji accommodation with a range of activities on offer including jet skiing, snorkelling and kayaking and a 9-hole golf course. Even the kids will be kept busy with the complimentary Little Chief`s Kids Club, a children`s pool and kids play areas and waterpark. The adults will also enjoy the onsite day spa with the biggest and most luxurious spa suites found in Fiji. Lagoon & Ocean Wings:
Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji's 442 guest rooms each have their own private balcony overlooking Yanuca Lagoon or the Pacific Ocean. Interconnecting rooms can be requested at the time of reservation (and are subject to availability) for the Yanuca Lagoon Grand Deluxe, Ocean Deluxe King, Ocean Deluxe Twin and Ocean Grand Deluxe room categories. All Deluxe Rooms are located on top floors, Terrace Rooms are located on the ground floors, and the Grand rooms are family rooms which are mostly located on the ground floors.

Located on the top floor. Great for families. This room type cannot interconnect. Offers private balcony with views over the resort's lagoon. Some rooms have a shower over the bathtub. Room size is 32m². Bedding is 1 King Bed + 1 Sofa Bed with pull out Trundle. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults & 2 Children. Please note the second child is accommodated on a small trundle bed (150cm x 61cm).
Yanuca Lagoon Terrace
Located on the ground floor. Great for families. This room type cannot interconnect. Same layout as the Lagoon Deluxe. Overlooks the private lagoon offering direct access to the Lagoon Pool and beach area. Room size is 32m². Bedding is 1 King Bed + 1 Sofa Bed with pull out Trundle. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults & 2 Children. Please note the second child is accommodated on a small trundle bed (150cm x 61cm).
Yanuca Lagoon Grand Deluxe
98% of these rooms are located on the ground floor with direct entry to the garden, with the rest on the top floor. Great for families. Overlooks the lagoon and pool. Features a curtain divider. Room size is 36m². This room can interconnect with another Yanuca Lagoon Grand Deluxe, which can be requested. Bedding is 1 King Bed + 1 Sofa Bed with Trundle Bed. Maximum room capacity is 3 Adults OR 2 Adults & 2 Children. Please note the second child is accommodated on a small trundle bed (150cm x 61cm). This room type cannot accommodation any more adults/children than listed.
Yanuca Lagoon Suite
This suite offers lagoon views and is great for families. Features a separate living room and a spacious private balcony with small daybed and dining table. There is a sliding partition door from the lounge room to the bedroom. This room type cannot interconnect. Room size is 67m². Bedding is 1 King Bed + 2 Sofa Beds + 1 Single Bed. Maximum room capacity is 3 Adults OR 2 Adults & 3 Children.
Yanuca Lagoon Bure 1 Bedroom
Inspired by traditional Fijian design, this unique Yanuca Lagoon Bure 1 Bedroom is located on the water's edge, with breath taking views of the resort's lagoon and the Pacific Ocean. Complete with a sitting room, dining area, separate bedroom and an outdoor terrace with daybeds and dining table, this bures offers the perfect space and location to relax and entertain. This room type cannot interconnect. Room size is 53m². Bedding is 1 King Bed + 1 Sofa Bed. Maximum room capacity is 2 Adults OR 2 Adults & 2 Children.
Yanuca Lagoon Bure 2 Bedroom
Featuring ocean views, these 2 bedroom suites offer separate living and dining areas, decorated in traditional Fijian style. This room type cannot interconnect. Room size is 106m². Bedding is 1 King Bed + 2 Double Beds. Maximum room capacity is 4 Adults OR 2 Adults & 4 Children.

Reef Wing:
The Reef Wing welcomes guests aged 16 years or above, offering rooms located in a quieter, more private end of the resort. Beach Bar & Grill: This is the perfect place to relax on the beachfront and take in the lush landscaped lagoon area while enjoying light meals, salads, sandwiches and grills. Open daily for lunch and dinner.
Golden Cowrie Coastal Italian: Enjoy a great variety of Italian classics whilst enjoying stunning views of the lagoon, welcoming adults and children from the age of 12 years for dinner service. Breakfast is served at the restaurant daily and is for adults only (16 years and above).
Takali Asian Kitchen: Overlooking the Pacific Ocean with panoramic views of the reef. Takali Asian Kitchen is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Black Marlin Tropical Bar: Dance the night away at Black Marlin Tropical Bar where a DJ playing upbeat dance music alternates with live entertainment on selected days of the week. Open from 6pm until late.
Yanuca Mirch Indian Restaurant: Located in Black Merlin, this pop-up restaurant is adults only and serves a unique blend of traditional and innovative Indian cuisine. Pair with a curated wine for a memorable experience. Open 4 times a week on alternate days.

There are a range of breathtaking and romantic outdoor settings. or for a more traditional venue, the seaside wedding chapel makes a gorgeous scene to exchange vows. The chapel seats up to 40 people and the altar features a glass wall and ceiling providing panoramic views of the coral reefs and crystal waters of the Pacific Ocean. Packages are also available for couples wishing to renew their vows.

Great resort for families
From the moment we arrived & Napoleon in the lobby yelled "BULA! Welcome home" we knew we had made the right choice. We stayed in one of the lagoon deluxe rooms with 2 kids who slept on the soft and trundle, the room was just right for what we needed. The lagoon pool that backs onto the beach is perfect for kids of all ages. The beach provides great water sports such as snorkeling, jet skis, paddle boarding, kayaking and the water park.
Shoutout to Jobbie from the pool bar and the bar & grill, he was fantastic and memorized our drinks orders after day 2! We were blessed to have Nancy Melly as the babysitter while we went to Cloud 9, our boys who are 5 & 9 loved her! Big shoutout to the horse riding team, they all took care of me and my 9 year old, and even knocked down some
Coconuts to drink afterwards (thanks John). The staff at the Laguna Terrace, Bar & Grill and Takali restaurants were amazing. To Denise at the Black Marlin Bar "Finito La Musica" you are incredible, thank-you for our amazing cocktails. My wife was treated like a queen during her "dusk til dawn" spa experience so many thanks to the staff there. I just wanted to also thank Joe for Cava Time & Waisake the head of security for our great conversations and connections we made. To Selena, Shivanjini & John at Jack's - thank-you for helping make us look so stylish while we swam in the pool or dressed up for dinner. Luisa at the RIC for taking care of all our reservations, babysitting and activities during our stay.
If you're travelling with children between 4-12 I would also recommend the day and night kids club, our boys made so many friends while there that they were practically begging us to let them go to the night time kids club (also a great excuse for parents to enjoy a couple hours of quality time, child free between 7-9pm). Special shout-out to the lovely florist, who arranged a great surprise for my wife (see photos below).

Best family holiday ever.
All 16 of us had a wonderful week to celebrate my 80th birthday. The accommodation on Yanuca island was ideal to suit adults only and families. The variation of activities was very good and kept everybody occupied and happy. The scenery and in particular the sunsets were nothing short of spectacular.
I would like to give a special thanks to Mereula for the wonderful setting and service she provided on the deck, just for our family, to celebrate my birthday. An unforgettable experience.
