Sunwing Bangtao was an amazing resort, perfect for families. We have 3 boys ranging in ages from 8-14 and they all had a great time. Plenty of thing for them to do including an area with soccer goals which my boys loved. The teen room was a great way for them to relax and the pools were wonderful! All staff were lovely and always willing to help. Small 7/11 type shop across the road for snacks, many restaurants on the beach and around. Tuk tuks to get you into the local markets which were great. About a 20 minute taxi ride to Patong for bigger markets. This resort is away from the hustle and bustle and a great way to get familiar with Thailand before venturing the busier places. Highly recommend this resort if you're wanting a relaxing holiday.
Our family of 5 have just returned from our stay at Sunwing Bangtao Beach. Extremely family friendly. Would not recommend for couples. Resort is beautiful, staff are very helpful and accommodating, especially when assisting us with options as our flight was delayed, and the on site restaurant food is great! Do yourself a favour and get a massage by the beach.
Across the road is a convenience store and money exchange with an amazing restaurant called Sugarcane. Only downside would be the resort is occupied by a large amount of Russians who are quite arrogant and rude.
The resort was in a great location right on the beach.
The rooms were clean and spacious. A bit disappointed that there were no ironing facilities in the room. The resort is great for young families. Doesn't really cater for teenagers.
