We had a couple of days and nights here. The staff and service were spot on, if you wanted something you got it if you wanted to do your own thing you got, so helpful. The weather was not the best but the volcano was. The local people are wonderfull and were much the same as our stay. You could walk around the villages and island freely, the locals would say hello and continue on or if you asked for help or just wanted to chat they wer so friendly and happy.
The staff at Tanna Lodge made our stay unforgettable. They are very friendly and warm and will do what they can to make sure your stay as comfortable as possible considering what's available on the island. Must book a beach front villa if you intend to stay for a few days- if visiting to just see the volcano, one night will suffice, otherwise to completely unwind and be forced to detach from city life, stay a few days and experience other tours, visit the village etc. Going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean is calming. The facilities are as best that can be expected for the island - we had good food, hot water, pool and private villa. Don't expect 5-star luxury, it's got a very homely vibe and no TV at the resort. wifi is available I the common area and works okay. This encourages you to get out and see the beauty of the Tanna Coastline right at your door step, and to meet the team and other guests. Thanks to Hugh, Stella, Jenny, Troy and Ned for a comfortable stay, making us feel at home and taking us on a few adventures to the Volcano and a fun drive via quad bikes to the magnificent waterfall. Thank you.
A very good location close to the ocean, only 100 feet from the water. Large divided room with 2 large beds which were quite comfortable. Dinner selections were limited. Almost no pastries for coffee snacks. Toilet, shower, and lavatory faucets and drains worked well. Location is 9 miles (15 km) from Whitegrass Airport where the aircraft shuttle from Port Vila lands.
