Fantastic location, although a little difficult to get to, very secluded. A true get away. No internet etc. Bungalows were amazing, right on the Beach, with a hammock on your verandah to enjoy the moment. Meals are provided, so you basically eat what you are given, for the two nights I was there the food was great.
Stayed here in 2007 with my husband and teenage son. We had the best holiday ever and we have traveled a lot - a wonderful experience made better still by friendly and accommodating staff and locals. your bungalow is literally right on the beach - so relaxing it felt like we had drifted away from all cares. Leave your mobile at home and embrace the beauty - especially the volcanoe nearby. The bungalow was clean, comfortable, decorating with a fabulous Pacific feel, and it had all basics - reasonable shower/bathroom facilities, and all the necessities (mossie nets/ hammock :) / good beds). Food was lovely fresh local produce (ie coconuts from the tree beside you and fish from the ocean in front of you). Do have a massage by one of the local women - very therapeutic and inexpensive. The ride across the island was also great fun with wonderful views. We hope to get back here in the near future. Fabulous for families/couples - perhaps not for elderly with mobility issues, but if that's no problem put Friendly Bungalows on your bucket list - its unique.
