We stayed in the tents but not all the windows had winders so I had to use 2 sticks to get ours open. We were offered another tent but it to was missing the window winders.
Anyhow we had a lovely time there and the staff were lovely. I would strongly recommend the place to anybody and they should include the fabulous morning breakfast in their stay. The should also do the trip to the lava caves as it is a must.
Words alone cannot adequately describe the fantastic adventure we had at the Undara Lodge. You need to experience it first hand. We stayed in one of the Homesteads cabins which was comfortable, roomy and very clean. This was only a short walk form the Reception area and Bar and Bistro. The food was amazing, simply delicious. The Bush Breakfast was incredible. The Undara experience was complemented by informative staff and an amazing group of Guides who conveyed their message with enthusiasm and passion. We did the Volcanic Tubes tour which was fantastic. We also went on the Nature walks. Overall, we had a great experience, loved the atmosphere and will certainly go back. A big thank you to all the staff for making the Undara experience a memorable one.
Only one problem; difficulty getting to sleep when people in opposite room talking on verandah with light on. Otherwise ex room. Thank you.
Very enjoyable stay. Easy walking paths allow access to great vistas. Lava tubes tour is good value. Terrific guides/Rangers very informative. Reasonable price for food from Bistro.
It was a pleasant experience to visit far North Queensland and stay a few days in Under. It gave a real taste of the savannah.
Staff were great and so was the whole experience.
Loved the Lava tubes excursion, the railway carriage accommodation and great food.
Need to book tours before you arrive , otherwise you'll miss out.
Just had a great time
Wonderful stay. Staff were great. Big thumbs up to Kane for the wealth of knowledge and information he passed on. This was my second trip and I learned so much more than the first 11 years ago.
We wanted a place where we could just relax and rest and enjoy family time. This was perfect as there was no phone connection, no internet and no tv. Just what we wanted. We stayed in a pioneer cabin. It was comfortable and had all the amenities. The best part was every morning we woke up to kangaroos and joeys and so many colourful birds. The local trips to the lava tubes was excellent. Denis was exceptional and explained everything around the tour very well. Overall, it was worth the money. And oh yes, They projected the NRL finals on the big screen at the restaurant. So we sat in the carriages having dinner and at the same time saw the match. It was such a moment!! Thanks Undara Lava Lodge!!
Great experience, but an expensive place to stay, unless you have your own caravan, motor home, tent etc.
interesting experience for a couple of days
Nice place to stay.
Uncomplicated, easy on the pocket, quiet, friendly, a place to rejuvenate and heal
great experience of outback living and things to do
Great to experience natural features 90.000 years since formation. Great to see what natural systems are there now.
Accommodation good for this relatively remote area (more than adequate) and at a reasonable price.
We loved our visit to Undara, it is an amazing place. The staff at the lodge are incredibly friendly and helpful and the guided tour was outstanding. There is nothing that we would have changed about our time there, thank you!
