My family and I recently spent a wonderful ten days at a vacation spot with our teenage daughters. I must say, it was an unforgettable experience that we would love to repeat. The place was fantastic, and we all had a great time. The staff was incredibly friendly and always eager to help us make the most of our stay. They provided us with helpful tips and suggestions that helped us plan our activities and maximize our experience. Overall, it was a delightful vacation, and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun-filled and memorable getaway.

Lovely resort with multiple pools right on a nice bay. Lots of resturants a short walk along the beach. Would suit couples and families, we had a room for the kids and a main room with our bed - amazingly comfortable bed and good air-conditioning. A very easy and comfortable holiday.

Sunwing Bangtao Beach offers friendly & helpful staff, delicious & varied buffet for breakfast, and the property is right on the beach.

We enjoyed our stay in our spacious 2 bedroom family suite. King bed plus day bed with pull out trundle then two more single beds in a separate bedroom. Great for our family of 4 with two teenage kids.

This is our 11th resort holiday in Thailand over many years and we found this resort very relaxing. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and a lovely place to stay and excellent value for money. There were many young families with young children staying, and the buffet breakfast was extensive and catered for everyone, eg western, asian, children. We are an older couple without children and we got a lovely couple surprise when we received 8 vouchers for 500 baht to spend at any of their food or drink outlets. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The only downside (from a female point of view) was that there were not many external shops within walking distance except for a mini-market and a restaurant, but this meant we did not spend much additional money. Thank you for your wonderful service.

The rooms were a bit "old" but clean and comfortable. The pools were kept clean, and plenty of lounge chairs to enjoy the beach or pool.

We really enjoyed our holiday, beautiful place,peaceful and wonderful atmosphere, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend and will back soon.

The location being right on the beach is fantastic. 4 pools with plenty of activities for children. Good buffet breakfast and Piaks kitchen was good for lunch or dinner. Theres plenty of local restaurants on the beach. Taxi service from the resort was good. Overall was great place to spend 11 nights.

Everything about this resort was excellent. Resort is definitely made for families.

The resort is located right on Bang Tao Beach which is a safe swimming beach for the family including in the monsoon season. Great facilities and staff very friendly.

The staff at sunwing were brilliant, friendly and extremely helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

This place has it all. Not too far away from the action that you cant get there by taxi or transport (cheap) far enough away that it doesnt invade the atmosphere of the area.

The staff are beautiful, helpful and genuine, the service in all areas from cleaning to reception to waiting staff they are all friendly and helpful.

The rooms were immaculate, We had a pool suite that was in the quieter area and almost had the area to ourselves.

The location is great as its right on the beach, there is great eating places over the road and in a short taxi ride at Boat Avenue.

Would thoroughly recommend this venue and we all had a marvelous time. We will definitely be returning to Sunwing Bangtao Beach and may also try the Sunwing at Kamala beach.

Great family Resort with large rooms. Some good local restaurants near resort and nice calm beach in front of the Resort if you want to swim.

Loved the hotel and stay but way too many kids everywhere within hotel

Loved the place. We travelled with family (6 kids) and the resort was fantastic. About Half an hour from the bustle of Patong (which was about a $50 mini bus ride) but with 10 people in the bus it works out cheap. If you are looking for the hustle and shopping of Patong, maybe stay closer, but if you like a quiet stay with lots to do for families and kids, then Sunwing is very good

Beautifully kept grounds, good place to relax but a little remote if you want shopping & variety of restaurants. Nice beach, good pools.

Great resort with plenty of options for teenagers to do. Resort restaurant good, as well as fantastic options just a short walk away along the beach. We had a wonderful holiday!

I’ve been to Phuket 3 times preciously and it was the 1st time we stayed away from Patong. Bangtao Beach is about 20mins from Patong. But it was just beautiful. The beach was clean & quiet. So many pools it’s perfect for both couples & families. Heaps of things for the kids of all ages to do. I travelled with a 13 & 16 yr old. They had a great time. Only complaint they had was the teen room was for ages groups 8+. OMG the food. AMAZING. We had a family suite which was great & a royal pool suite. Not sure what they royal part actually was but still it was a great room. Only real issue would be it’s not really Thai themed, it probably had a more beachie feel. But still no really an issue in the scheme of things. It had a little shop which was very affordable compared to the bars etc. plus there is a 7-11 across the road. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday away from the night life!

Our family loved the Sunwing Bangtao. The happy baby studio was fantastic with young kids, located on the ground floor with a little yard with table and chairs and 2 sun loungers. There were a range of pools of differing depth/size, including baby and younger children's pools, through to deep, and of course a great waterslide. The restaurant was good and decent value for money. Grounds and pool kept well.
Negatives were that there weren't enough sunloungers around the main pools where kids are, the smoking zone was located on main path to lobby, the restaurant kids buffet wasn't open at dinner (maybe being low season but my eldest loves it at the Kamala Sunwing), it was a bit far walking distance from the town, plus no footpath, so a little scary (and the little tuk tuks in this area of phuket didn't seem big enough to take the pram) so a shuttle might have been good, however there was a great restaurant across the road and if the tide was out quite a few beach restaurants. The kids club was on the average side and you couldn't check children in like at Kamala and other resorts in phuket we've been to. But the babysitting service at kids club was great and the kids loved their babysitter. And my main criticism is that the nightly entertainment was virtually non-existant. I know we went in low season, but I really think they could just have acoustic singers for an hour or two (8-10ish), so parents can have a cocktail after dinner and the kids dance, they had this at the Centara Karon and the nights were a lot more enjoyable for the parents! I think they could do better here and it would probably encourage families to stay at the resort and spend more at the bar.

This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel friendly staff.

We stayed 18 days at Sunwing on our fourth stay since 2015.
It is a popular resort in particular for families with children and it can be noise at times even in low season but with everything the resort has on offer it makes up for that.
We find location and layout of resort completely suits us and as we rent a car it is easy to get around. There are now many shops and other restaurants in walking distance that gives you great choice.
We enjoy playing Minigolf which is only 10 minutes walk away from resort.
Beach is one of the best in Phuket and stretches 5km north so plenty of room to go for a walk.
Pools are great and well maintained so are all other facilities and there is a lot of activities on offer in particular for kids.
Breakfast is superb in choice, quality and overlooking the ocean.
Meal voucher deals we had through Travelonline are great to use restaurant for dinner.
We can highly recommend Sunwing resort and we will be back.

We had 3 first floor royal family rooms with beach and pool views and limited self catering, which was an upgrade from our booking. Pools and slide was clean and well maintained. Sports pool was great for pool volleyball. Breakfast buffet in piaks restaurant was fantastic with variety of choices of food that varies daily. We dined 6 times for 3 course meals at dinner and everyone loved their meals both thai and European. Staff were faultless and all meals arrived together and without any mixups despite having variations and a coeliac diner. Rooms serviced daily very clean. Air conditioning was controllable and perfect in each room. Massage facilities on site were utilised and good value. Reception if asked would promptly bring tissues, tea towells etc. Staff great all round.

This was perfect for a family. Was peaceful and close to the beach. Nice restaurant attached and others down the beach close to resort.

We travelled to this resort for a family holiday with our 4 sons and had a wonderful time. The rooms are very comfortable, there was always a sunbed to be found by one of the 4 main pools as well as the lovely beach. The food and service at Piak's Kitchen was excellent with a great range of Thai and Western food.

Bathroom not clean as I would like. fino restaurant closed leaving only one dining option.

We had such a fine experience. The service at the hotel was great and we appreciate how it was always kept clean.

We stayed here for 2 weeks with 2 kids aged 7 and 3.
For the most part it was perfect, Fino restaurant was closed while we were there so there was only pitaks kitchen open, which was good but it got monotonous. There are plenty of other places to eat close by though that are amazing value, green leaf being the best.
Kids club had plenty of activities however for most the parents needed to stay with the kids, for us not much in an issue though. The only problem we had was the for one of the activities that needed to rsvp we couldn’t actually do that and then when we tired to get the kids in we were told it was too late, there wasn’t even an ounce of effort on their behalf.
Besides this one incident, we had an amazing time

Great location. You couldn’t get any closer to the beach, which was cleaned of rubbish every morning. Large spacious clean rooms with a large refrigerator. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be back!

We had a nice time at Sunwing with our family. The resort had good facilities. The staff were not overly enthusiastic. The kids area was missing a lot of stuff so none of the toys were complete (e.g. no trains for train set, no cars for garage). Staff very accommodating of eating preferences. Stage show fun. Breakfast was fabulous.

This is a great family resort that is right on the beach. The value for money is fantastic. Staff are friendly and professional. The resort caters really well for younger kids, but also has quieter pool areas for those without kids or wanting some peace and quiet. Food is great in the resort however there are limited dining options within walking distance, although plenty within a 5 min tuk tuk ride.

Would most probably rate the resort as 3.5 star.
Ideal for families with small children away from Patong.

The only thing that I would like to say that we weren't that happy with was the lack of brochures for tours etc.

we enjoyed everything the resort had to offer, it is a safe, friendly place, especially for kids.

Stayed with my family early may 2019. Location excellent. No annoying street vendors harassing you. Beach was great. Resort and amenities was good. Pools were excellent. Staff were friendly, not much english background limited communication apart from menu items. A couple staff on front desk also were ok with English. Overall great stay. Would recommend for families.

We loved everything about this resort. The staff/management have thought of everything! Location was perfect. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you Sunwing for making our Thailand experience exceptional xx

A great place to enjoy a holiday with loved ones.

Sunwing Bangtao Beach was a great hotel choice for our family. Lots of entertainment options for the kids, swimming pools and a very safe beach. The meal options were great, offering many options for kids while still offering a great variety of both western and Thai adult options. The kids loved the ice cream card!

The rooms are well appointed with plenty of space and a great little kitchen area for simple heating and washing up.

Gorgeous beachside family resort . Cannot fault! Very Generous inclusions. Exceptionally well maintained . Perfect family holiday location.

Definitely a family resort. Got very busy over Easter to the point of not being able to get a table for breakfast on a few mornings. We had to keep walking round the restaurant until one became available. Good for families with young children as there are different pools & plenty of activities

A great place to stay for a few days, particularly if you have children 6 and under. There are numerous places to purchase food along the beach front, as well as enjoying a quiet stroll in the evening. The restaurant food is great too! Poolside bars assist with obtaining a quick, relaxing drink, while the children are enjoying kids club, the entertainment room or any one of the five pools. To purchase supplies, you can use the on-site store or, take a cab into the nearby town, or walk if you prefer.

on arrival at sunwing we found our 4 rooms were not close to each other and it took a few hours to end up with a satisfactory result'

Resort was wonderful. Great value. Beach front with beautiful beach for swimming. Lovely clean pools, resort had many facilities. Restaurant on the beach was added bonus. Would definitely recommend to families.

What an amazing hotel. Staff are very friendly. the facilities are great. enough pools to go around. Lots of dining options near by and the hotel food is not bad. Massages were amazing! - I had one every day:-)
We had the family room with two rooms and two bathrooms - super spacious. Kids clubs were super. My three year old loved it. my older ones enjoyed teen club too. the shows in the evening were so much fun for adults and kids. highly recommend and hopefully we will get to go again soon.

Only downside: there was a bit of smell that comes from the bathrooms - which I think is from the sewer nearby. if the hotel could work on this, it would be perfect. Saying this we were not massively impacted as we were barely in our rooms and the smell only came every now and then

We found the resort and facilities great except for poor understanding of English by staff which lead to a few mistakes on orders and made it hard to get information on local area etc
Resort is isolated from shops and nightlife but had some restaurants nearby.
Beach in front of resort was clean but further down the beach we saw a lot of rubbish including needles which was concerning.
We found food variety limited especially for pre-teen and 3 year old.
Teen room was great and Miniland was good except we had to supervise our own child so no downtime for parents with under 8 years.
Pools and grounds were beautiful and well maintained.
Rooms were ok but could be improved eg bathroom has no bath and could clearly tell it was only renovated. Due to moisture the room often smelt musty especially when the air conditioner was on and doors closed.
Transfer to and from hotel and other tours through My Phuket were good. Driver on Free tour with package however couldn’t understand English so this made it hard. Grace who we met to organise tours was great though.
Overall we had a nice holiday but we would stay elsewhere if we return to Thailand so we were closer to activities but if you want to relax and stay in the one place this is a nice place to do it.

An awesome resort, at a stunningly beautiful location. We were greeted by friendly smiles & an amazing welcome pack - including, fruit, chips, softdrink, wine, beer etc.
What hit us was the cleanliness of the resort. Always smelt so clean & people ALWAYS cleaning.
For most of the stay it felt like we were the only ones there (we went a week before school holidays). Kids loved it even more when more kids arrived.
Highly recommend Sunwing Bangtao.

We just had the pleasure of staying here during the low season. There would have been no more than 40 people in a resort that probably caters for hundreds. The Royal Pool access rooms are very clean and a must have, the staff are great. You can even stock your own large fridge with drinks for your private patio sun lounges. The deal from travelonline is better than any direct deal or trivago etc... A few good restaurants nearby - best Thai Sugar Cane across the road. Beach is cleaned at resort but full of debris elsewhere.

We had the most amazing 2 weeks stay at the Sunwing Bangtao. It is such a good set up for families with its multiple pools, very good kids club and being right on the beach. The restaurant is great and there are lots of others within walking distance for when you want a change. Only tiny negative is that it's a bit far out from Patong/Phuket Town but there are plenty of shops, markets and attractions nearby if you aren't that fussed. We had a great stay and are already thinking about our next visit!

Great hotel for families. Dining options are a bit limited both within the hotel and in the surrounding area. General area is pretty quiet and less developed than other parts of Phuket.

What a great resort. Big comfortable rooms, great food with breakfast catering for every nationality, beautiful restaurant open to the beach. Clean lovely pools where the kids spent most of their time. The staff were ALL very friendly and helpful. A low pressure location, you have to seek out the markets. Good restaurants very close and moneychangers and minimarts closeby in multiple directions. Value for money in low season was outstanding.

This place is big with 2 big swimming pools water slide and other water activities very good food not expensive no happy hour for alcohol doesnt matter shop in resort 50 TBah can about $2 Aus Best child care system I have seen at a resort The staff are brilliant, shuttle buses available, night market close by, good beach in front plenty to do

We had a great time at the Sunwing Bang Tao. The 2 bedroom apartment was large and clean. Beds were very comfortable.
The hotel pools were clean and inviting, and the hotel grounds were well maintained.

I travelled solo looking for peace and relaxation and I found it at Sunwing Bangtoa resort. There were a few young families there but everyone was friendly and quiet. The resort has numerous pools which are clean and inviting. As it is right on the beach you can also swim in the ocean. My room on the third floor with balcony was spacious. All the staff I encountered were friendly and professional. The food was also very good, with a huge selection at breakfast. I would definitely return as I didn't need to leave the resort and returned home relaxed and happy.

Just feel that wing 1 should be for couples so they are away from the kids playing in the main two pools we found we had to sit in front of the number 1 wing to get away from the noise

Great resort, great location right on the beach. Offers something for everyone. Fabulous buffet breakfast and facilities including kids club.
As it was our first time there, the staff could have been a bit more forthcoming with information about the hotel and what is available nearby eg. taxis, restaurants, supermarket.
It is helpful to do your own research on the surrrounds.
At the time of year we went there were a lot of younger kids and toddlers. So pool was a bit crowded at times.
Would definitely consider holidaying there again.

Need to introduce free courtesy buses into Patong or Phuket for resort guests and the Front of house staff at the administration need to be more helpful, was disappointed that they did not put themselves out to help people. Restaurant staff, need to have a bit more English speaking skills as they didn't understand what we were talking about. Overall loved our experience at the Sunwing resort Bangtao Beach

This is a great resort but failed to give me my preferences that I emailed them. I asked for a room next to the pool and was put in a second story room, asked for a cot but there was no cot when I arrived. The staff were happy to move me to a room next to the pool, however I had to stay in the second story room for 4 days before the other was available. The staff are pretty nice but I think there is a bit of a communication barrier as they don't understand much English. The beach was great and Sunwing section was clean, the pools were clean and a lot of fun. Massages next to the beach were good and give great value for money (300 baht for 1 hour massage, around $12 aussie dollars) compared to the spa within Sunwing resort. Rooms were pretty tidy apart from a bit of mould in showers ect. Beds were super comfortable and huge! I wasn't woken by noise in the morning either which was great. Only noise that could be heard at night was if someone had fireworks on the beach which was fine as it wasn't that loud anyway. If you want to be next to the pool then ask to be in block 4 or 5 which are right next to one of the pools where you can swim up to the back door of your room. We stayed in the two bedroom room 4102 which I would recommend asking for but make sure they confirm it . Restaurant was very clean and everything seemed fresh however it was quite pricey but found that most of the food on phuket cost around that much. (Equivalent prices to australia.) The breakfast buffet was great with heaps of food and drinks to chose from.
Great resort for families and can give 4 stars.

This resort has everything you need for a a good family holiday. Food is yum and staff is very friendly.
It is very good value for money.

Would definitely go back. Although the room entrance was behind staff access to maintenance area out the back which wasn't really inviting everything was excellent

Nice stay at this resort, especially recommended for famuly with kids, services generally good but some staffs can be not so friendly.

The local was amazing, the resort opened straight onto the beach. Bang Tao, is a quiet town, that has a slower pace than Patong. The resort pools were beautiful and clean. There were many pools, kids pools, a quiet adult pool and a water slide, which the kids loved. The gym had the best equipment, and they also have yoga and pilates classes. The restaurant is right on the beach. The buffet breakfast is one of the best, I've ever had. The lunch and dinner menu included both western and Thai food. We enjoyed the Thai food and ate in the resort a few times. But you can also walk up or down the beach to the many restaurants. Kids under 12 ate free with an adult meal.
We couldn't have had a better holiday. So relaxing, we didn't want to leave.

Recommended for families. Breakfast station needs fine tuning

Nothing was a drama - staff all friendly and helpful. ideal location for beach holiday and taxi distance to Patong

We had private pool access and loved it. The restaurant was directly at the beach and we had some spectacular sunsets while dinner. Food is quite acceptable.
The staff, except the reception, is not so professional but very friendly. Rooms are spaceful and clean.
The low season is good for couples without family.

Our stay was for 12 nights (end of October 2014) with 3 children aged 4,7 & 8. we found our rooms to be a great size (2 bed room) the three children fitted in the 2nd bed room with ease, the room was cleaned & freshened everyday! we walked about 10 steps to the nearest pool & maybe 100mtr to the dining area at the beach front. we liked the fact that Bangtao Beach was away from the hussle & bussle of the busy areas of Phuket, but for a short & cheap (25min) cab ride you are in Patong and right amongst it but then can go home to the peace of this beautiful family friendly resort where nothing was to much trouble.
Can not wait to go back!

We have just stayed at the sunwing for 12 days and had the most amazing time. We have 2 children(9 and 7) and went with friends who have 3 chidren (8,7 and 4) and you couldn't ask for anything more. Great rooms, amazing pools and all set on a beautiful beach aswell. The people are sooo friendly and couldn't help you enough. We had the buffet breakfast included and that was awesome, a great way to start everyday. also we had many lunches and dinners there which was beautiful food with more than enough to choose from and the kids ate free. Would definately recommend this place to other families travelling to Phuket.

Great holiday. Fantastic pools and great food.

An awesome resort that considers "families" to be the norm - with no extra charges for rollaway beds or breakfast for the kids. Good location, nice beach, great pools, good kids club, spacious room, comfy beds, nice restaurant, helpful and friendly staff. We have been twice and will go again. It is a lovely place to holiday with 3 children aged 6,4 and 2.

This was the perfect place for us to stay as a young family. It had everything that we needed and the staff were always friendly, helpful and understanding of our noisy offspring. Fantastic place for a family holiday.
