This Centara resort has a narrow frontage onto a lovely beach, (although the waves were mostly too big and rough for swimming while we were there in July it was still nice to be close and hear the crashing waves) and the property extends back towards the jungle hills.
Their pools are big and long, although a little shallow, but this would suit those with younger kids.
The breakfast selection was excellent and the dining within the hotel had some gems, their Thai meals and wood-oven pizza were stand outs. Beach front dining with our feet in the sand was something we enjoyed.
We booked adjoining rooms which both had problems the first night (a/c not working in one and strong smell of fresh paint in the other) but they offered us a suitable option for the first night and changed our rooms the next day, which although not adjoining were next to each other. The staff were apologetic and helpful in regards to solving this problem.
It was low season and they seemed to have a lot of trainee staff on, but they all worked to deliver service the best they could.
Lots of dining and shopping options within walking distance of the hotel which was appreciated.
