Boarding the Spirit of the Wild at Macquarie Harbour, you'll hit the open sea and cruise through the narrow passage known as Hells Gates, due to the number of ships and seafarers it has claimed in the past. As you pass, you'll be astounded by the Training Wall, a 19th century engineering masterpiece that now makes the passage safe for travel.
Continuing on to the edge of the Southern Ocean, you'll visit fish farms and see where Ocean Trout and Atlantic Salmon are cultivated for local produce and export. You'll also visit Sarah Island and explore the convict ruins when ships were once built from Huon Pine. As you head upstream, you'll also have the opportunity to go ashore and stroll through the stunning rainforest of Heritage Landing.
