This half day tour of Moorea departs from your accommodation either early morning or early afternoon. Travelling on board a 4WD vehicle you will traverse the steep terrain of the island to explore its natural beauty, learn about the culture and visit a few local businesses with intriguing produce.
On Tekura Tahiti Travels - Aito 4WD Safari Tour, you will learn about the local produce visiting a local farm and Moorea's agricultural school. Your English-speaking guide will provide commentary about the agricultural industry and the fruits that are widely grown in the region. These include pineapples, vanilla, bananas, grapefruits and lemons.
After departing the farming district travel to Marae of the Belvedere an ancient Polynesian temple. Dating back to AD900, these open-air Polynesian sites were used for social gatherings, religious ceremonies and activities. Re-joining your guide, your tour drives onto Belvedere Point for the magical views over Opunohu and Cook's Bay.
Before the tour completes, take the opportunity to taste and purchase some of the unique wines, punches and liqueurs at the Manutea distillery. Try sparkling and still pineapple wine, coconut or vanilla liqueurs and a variety of rums made from pure sugar cane. The tour ends with a visit to Magic Mountain for amazing views over the island of Moorea.
