Noosa has a reputation as a shopping mecca, however not all of the best bargains can be found in the local retail outlets and boutiques of Hastings Street. There are a number of excellent local markets held in and around Noosa catering to all tastes and budgets.
There is nothing more satisfying than making a holiday purchase of something unique and home-made in the bustling ambience of a local market. The Noosa region has a number of weekday and weekend markets, where everything from fresh local produce to unusual artefacts and gifts can be found. The best-known markets can be found in Eumundi, Peregian, Maleny and Buderim.
The Noosa Marina also hosts a small market every Sunday, ideally located with water views surrounded by a great range of bars, cafes and restaurants. Situated at the Tewantin entry, the markets are a pleasant day out and a chance to pick up some local arts, crafts and fresh produce.
However the Eumundi Markets are the most famous Noosa markets and are a popular attraction throughout Queensland. More than just some simple local markets, the Eumundi Markets are a Queensland icon and are held every Wednesday and Saturday in the morning. The markets offer a huge range of stalls selling everything from jewellery and fashion to toys, homewares, local produce and much more.
Perfectly suited to the relaxed atmosphere of this beachside holiday destination, the Noosa markets are wonderful way to spend a leisurely day strolling along the waterfront browsing some of the best local art, craft and fresh produce.
