Day 1: (Dinner)
Your tour begins directly from Ayers Rock Airport or the Resort where we will collect you before traveling the short distance to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring this extraordinary monolith starting with an interpretive walk led by your guide, and hearing of the Aboriginal law and religion (Tjukurpa). You will also learn about the art and culture of the local custodians, the Anangu people, and visit the acclaimed Cultural Centre where you can explore the displays and learn of the flora and fauna unique to this area. Experience the famous changing colours of Uluru at sunset complete with sparkling wine and nibbles and plenty of photo opportunities. This is a great time to kick back and contemplate the vastness of the desert while getting to know your fellow travellers. Afterwards settle in at our private camp, complete with our signature Endless Star dining experience before retiring to your swag under the amazing night sky or your comfortable safari tent complete with beds.
Day 2: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Rising early, take a short walk to a lookout close to our campsite to view sunrise over Uluru and Kata Tjuta without the hustle and bustle of the public viewing areas before heading off to Kata Tjuta for a walk through the spectacular "Valley of the Winds". Afterwards, we're off to Kings Creek Cattle Station for our second nights' remote private bush camp, complete with flushing bush toilets and hot showers. With nobody else for miles, this camp has stunning views out over the George Gill Ranges and gives you a real feel for the outback. Dinner around the campfire makes for a very social time with another night out under the stars. Tonight, listen for the sound of dingo's howling in the distance while watching the desert sky light up above you.
Day 3: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Today we head off to Watarrka (Kings Canyon) for a mind blowing 6km walk through the towering walls, crevices and plateaus of Watarrka. We will visit the Amphitheatre, Lost City and the tranquil 'Garden of Eden'. Afterward we travel a short distance to our next stop to enjoy a well-earned lunch followed by the opportunity to immerse yourself in an authentic indigenous cultural experience. Enjoy a leisurely guided walk with our indigenous custodians while learning about bush tucker and the healing powers of bush medicine, and gain an insight into Aboriginal dot painting. This afternoon we start our trip towards our remote bush camp at Owen Springs Reserve. Sleep tonight under the clearest skies with no light pollution. You will think that you can almost touch the stars. No shower tonight.
Day 4: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Following an early breakfast we embark on a stunning 4WD experience traveling through Owen Springs Reserve, we then re-join the sealed road and arrive at Ellery Creek Big Hole, one of the West MacDonnell Ranges most picturesque swimming and walking spots known to the locals as Udepata. Arrive at Ormiston Gorge to hike the Ghost Gum Walk followed by a swim in the rock hole. After lunch we head to Gosse's Bluff sacred site to view the original crater which is believed to be the remnants of a comet impact almost 1 million years ago, then it's time for some four wheel driving on the famous Mereenie Loop Road which presents a great opportunity to spot some native wildlife amongst amazing scenery. We return to our private camp at Kings Creek Station in time for a welcome hot shower before dinner and star gazing around the campfire.
Day 5: (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before we leave Kings Creek Station and begin making our way back to Uluru. We stop en route at Kathleen Springs to enjoy a leisurely 1.5 hour walk which take us to a picturesque spring-fed waterhole at the head of Kathleen Gorge, this is an ideal spot to sit and enjoy the tranquillity before we hit the road again. Arriving at Uluru for our final night in the outback, you'll have the chance to visit the camel farm (optional and own expense) to experience one of the oldest forms of transport in the desert before settling in for our last dinner together around the campfire. This evening you can also visit Bruce Munro's art installation 'Field of Light' (optional and own expense) or opt to stay back at camp and marvel at the clearest skies you can imagine.
