Shotover River Heli Rafting + Thunder Jet is an action packed half day tour. An adrenaline-fuelled helicopter ride will add to the rush of Shotover Rafting combined with 1 hour jet boat experience across Lake Wakatipu and along the Kawarau River.
Departing the Go Orange base at Queenstown you will travel to the rafting base to sort out your rafting gear. After a short briefing you then head off to the heli-pad for an exciting heli ride into Skippers Canyon up to Deep Creek. Here you will receive a detailed safety briefing and meet your river guide and companions. Raft the river starting with the easy stuff before hitting the white water of the lower canyon.
Paddle numerous rapids such as After Shock, Jaws, Toilet and Sequel during the 1.5-2 hrs of rafting. Following hte rafting you then head over to the Thunder Jet for 1 hour of thrilling jet boat action, including world famous 360° spins, skimming the water at exciting speeds of up to 95km/h, going the furthest distance of 47km, and delightfully complemented by our storytelling commentary.
