The azure waters and pure white silica sands of Whitehaven Beach extend for several kilometres as Whitsunday Island is the largest of all the islands in the National Park. Repeatedly chosen as one of the top beaches in the world, Whitehaven is a photographers paradise.
Start your Whitehaven exploration on the beach at the south end where the Cruise Whitsundays staff will outline the day's activity times, including the hike to see Hill Inlet. Enjoy a guided walk and gain an insight into the history of the traditional owners, the Ngaro people. There are informative displays along the way that will provide an insight into the history, flora and stories of this picturesque area. A leisurely pace ensures all fitness levels are catered for, and guests take the time to enjoy this superb spiritual place.
After your hike is completed you return to the southern end before heading off on the guided bush walk to Solway Circuit Lookout (approximately 30 minute walk). Along the way you'll enjoy a number of picture perfect moments and stunning views over Solway Passage, Haselwood islands and Pentecost.
Whilst your on the Solway Circuit, there is the option to continue on the walk to beautiful Chance Bay (6km return) and is a leisurely 90 minutes return. Walk through Whitsunday Island’s forest and woodlands to a secluded beach at Chance Bay. On arrival, you’ll have time to have a swim before the return walk.
If you’re after the relaxing option; wander back to Whitehaven Beach to your own secluded stretch, laze on the beach or cool off in the azure waters for the afternoon.
Throughout the day there will be cold drinks available to purchase and you can use at leisure the beach umbrellas and beach games set up on the shore. Toilets are also handy. The day cruise includes a gourmet burger served on the beach with side salads. Morning and afternoon tea is served onboard with complimentary tea and coffee.
