An excellent way to discover the beauty of Moreton Island in a compact 2 day tour as you cruise the Marine Park, spot native wildlife, try your hand at sand boarding, swim, snorkel or relax at the lakes, enjoy the spectacular views from Mt Tempest and snorkel the iconic Tangalooma Wrecks with overnight camping at Blue Lagoon.
Day 1: Departing Brisbane this fully guided off-road adventure travels across the Moreton Bay Marine Park via the luxury Micatt Sea Ferry spotting dolphins, fish, turtles, dugongs and sometimes even whales. Arriving on the island's west coast, you pull in alongside the famous Tangalooma Shipwreck.
Then it's off to the famous sand hills for some sand boarding action with all equipment supplied. After a morning spent having great fun you'll depart the beach and head to a secluded surf beach stopping along the way to enjoy the beautiful wildflowers, birdlife and lakes. Then it's onto the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing afternoon spend swimming and snorkelling.
A picnic lunch is served overlooking Golden Beach before you head to an ancient fish trap, aboriginal midden site and then on to Cape Moreton Lighthouse for spectacular views of Flinder's Reef. Your day winds up with a visit to Honeymoon Bay Beach and the Champagne Pools and strolls along First Bay, North Point, Yellow Patch and the fresh water lagoons before returning to you campsite to enjoy entrees, BBQ fish and cold drinks. After dinner you're free to enjoy a moonlight walk along the beach or a night swim.
Day 2: Begin the day with a tropical breakfast and walk along the beach and explore the surf beaches and freshwater creeks of Blue Lagoon or hike your way to Lake Honeyeater before departing for Mount Tempest where you'll enjoy breathtaking views from the largest sand dune in the world.
A lunch of fresh bread, cold meats, fruit and cold drinks is served preparing you for an afternoon on Moreton's west coast. Take part in a marine search and see if you can spot the resident fish, stingray, turtles, dolphins and even whales. You'll also have time to explore the Tangalooma Wrecks and the secluded Wrecks of Bulwer.
Wrap up this fantastic tour with a beach walk or snorkel the marine life and wrecks before boarding the luxury ferry and sailing back across the bay as the sun sets.
