One of the most popular Fraser Island tours, this fantastic two day safari covers the best that the island has to offer including Lake McKenzie, Maheno Wreck, Lake Wabby and Eli Creek.
You can choose resort accommodation or camp for an authentic experience with ecofriendly 1, 2 or 3 person tents available at your choice of campsite. You can enjoy grass camping just metres from freshwater Govi Creek or the beach. All equipment is provided and set up for you.
The motel accommodation of Eurong Beach Resort is the other option and includes 2 swimming pools, a tennis court, coffee shop, bakery, supermarket and 2 onsite bars.
Day 1: Departing from Brisbane the tour heads north along the Glasshouse Mountains to Cooloola Coast Beach and the Noosa River Ferry (tides permitting). Explore the coloured sands of Rainbow Beach and Double Island Lighthouse before cruising to Fraser Island. Via 4WD you'll traverse 75 Mile Beach to Eli Creek and then on to the Maheno Shipwreck. In the afternoon you'll continue on to Lake Wabby before returning through the cycad and melaleuca forests to relax at Eurong Beach Resort. For those who choose to camp, you'll return to the Dilli Village eco camp on the beach and unwind with hot showers.
Day 2: Rising early you'll watch the sun rise over the ocean and enjoy a refreshing stroll or hike before breakfast. After a quick rest stop it's on to Lake McKenzie or Birrabeen where you'll spend the morning and swimming and enjoying the beaches and wildlife. Cooling off with a rainforest boardwalk along Wanggoolba Creek you'll spot rare giant King Ferns, marvel at the World Heritage satinay forests and the Picabeen Palms of Central Station. After a picnic lunch it's straight into the 4WDing action through the forest to Lake Boomanjin or Eurong Beach Resort before finishing up on 75 Mile Beach or Rainbow Beach upon which you'll return to Noosa and Brisbane.
