Part of the Cyclades group of Greek Islands, Paros is situated on the Aegean Sea west of Naxos and is popular with summer tourists. Measuring approximately 197 km2, Paros has been famed since ancient times for its fine white marble used in many masterpieces across Greece however these days it is best known for its colourful fishing villages, windmills, small chapels, whitewashed houses and one of Greece’s most important Byzantine monuments, the church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani.
