The Matava is a remote resort. It has relaxed feel from the moment you arrive. Nothing is to much trouble. The meals are home style cooking, with the best freshly made sweet pastry and bread made daily. The diving was described by my husband as some of the best he has ever done. Due to the remoteness of the island, its a 45min light plane ride, followed by an hours boat ride to the resort, the reef is very untouched. lots of colourful corals and fish. Our room called " 2 Trees ", was short walk up hill, our view was of the reef and surrounding green forest.rooms were serviced daily and sheets and towels change second daily. We had solar lights and gas supplied hot water. We enjoyed our stay at Matava and do plan to return oneday soon.
Perfect place to experience the real Fiji. The locals there are genuinely nice and the ocean view from the bure was awesome. Wish we could stay another week. So much left to see and do.
The staff were amazing, food was delicious and the location was out of this world. Great place for divers and those wanting to get away from the world - no phones, television or distractions. Snorkelling was fantastic and right at the front door. Really is an untouched part of Fiji.
This was a great adventure!!! The people are excellent and accomodations great. We got to try the Kadevu Kava which is the best I have ever had. George took us bird watching and we saw several of the indigineous birds. The reef right off shore is awesome. Great stay wish we were still there.
