A great place away from everything
Very relaxing if you like snorkeling kayaking and swimming
I would recommend you get a rental car if you go to the coral coast
Only disappointment was they had no leis to present us with upon arrival. The staff were friendly and very helpful also. I would recommend this place to stay. The upshot was no technology which made for a relaxing few days.
We really enjoyed the morning activities, night activities and music. Everything was excellent
The Fijian people are what make the stay special. They get paid pittance but work tirelessly to make your holiday a special one.
We didnt do the food package offered and saved considerable $. The food was basic but delicious. There is no where close by to buy other meals so are committed to Resort. Purchase nibbles and soft drinks from supermarket on the way.
The transfers are too expensive and can be done much cheaper by bus or local taxi.
Duty free alcohol is a great way to save money and Resort is happy to provide ice.
We loved the privacy of Crusoe's and the fact it's a small Resort.
Would definitely go again.
Good for families and couples. Join in the activities or don't (no pressure either way).
Relaxing quiet location, with activites available if wanted. Food and drink prices reasonable and staff friendly and helpful.
we had a wonderful time at crusoes retreat there where both activities to one occupied as well as being great for just relaxing. All the staff where amazing friendly and helpful and I would definitely return again
I have never come across more friendly and helpful people, than those at Crusoes Retreat. Their motto come as a guest leave as a friend is true in every sense of the word. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a place to either relax through to the thrill seeker.
Hidden away well off the main road - this place is a great place to relax and feel away from the rat race. Accommodation, food and local staff all good.
We read a lot of negative, or mixed reviews on this place before going, and we were not really sure what to expect. After going, all we can say is that we agree with the Manager 100%, in that if you like the upmarket mass resort style accommodation with people everywhere and activities organized for you, then don't come here. We found every aspect of this place amazing. In our opinion this is a hidden gem of Fiji. This is not a five star resort and we love it. We would like to thank the staff and people of the local village for there hospitality while we were there. We will be back for sure.
Would recommend it to anyone who wants to relax in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
I never left the resort! Sleeping in the hammock, snorkelling in the lagoon and joining the other guests for Happy Hour, dinner and activities.
Slept, ate and read. totally relaxed. Met very nice people from various countries. The staff were friendly and happy to assist. Our only problem was the delays in our transfers, so allow extra time, at least one hour.
Lots of activities at the resort and many off the resort as well... get a car... the taxi service is too expensive there.
More a retreat than a resort. Wonderful staff, good food and excellent surrounds. Would thoroughly recommend.
This was our tenth trip to Fiji over a thirty year period. It took us back to the times when Fiji was all about the people and their values. The bure was great, food and service outstanding.
I always wasn't sure what a retreat was but now I know, what an experience we will be back.
This was a small Retreat. The size meant that there was a fair bit of mingling between guests and staff. Having a village right next door added another dimension to the stay.
A very pleasant experience at this wonderfully located place.
Plenty to do; well priced extras. (reef snorkling/diving/fishing.)
A quaint retreat with no extras (no tv) a perfect place to unwind and relax. The staff mostly from the village next door are so friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and mostly grown in the local area.
The only downside is a little TLC is required but this in no way detracted from us having a wonderful holiday.
excellent place for a relaxing honeymoon! scuba diving, snorkling, drinks by the sea...
I loved this quaint resort it doesn't have all the bells n whistles of other resorts but its what makes it so charming the staff are so wonderful I'm going to miss them so much it was very easy to get to know the other guest so of coarse new friends have been made the food was wonderful its the kind of place I would visit over and over
Will definitely return for another dose of Fiji
great place, lovely people and good food!
We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and our girls very much enjoyed the hospitality of the villagers.
Our family stayed for a week at Crusoe's Retreat. We had the most special time. The resort is so laid back and relaxing, the staff are unbelievably friendly. We loved interacting with the Namaquamaqua villagers. Our kids played with their kids and have formed friendships and plan to go back and visit. The food was fabulous, a different menu every night. Snorkelling and day trips quickly organised by the Resort. Our horizons have been broadened and we will never view the world the same again. Fiji is beautiful and displayed well by Crusoe's Retreat.
We had a great time and would not hesitate to return. However the one comment from others who were there was that they did not realize how isolated Crusoes is and how costly it is to travel to any nearby places. The name "retreat" should indicate that to most people, but obviously some may need a prompt when considering going there!!
This is a great to place to unwind . Loved the bure rooms...very cool and comfortable ....hidden away in a quiet location...since road maps in Fiji are not realiable, does take a bit of finding if you are self driving...but is worth the effort
THE PEOPLE HERE WHERE JUST GREAT
Single mum travelled with two boys aged 12 and 9. We all had a great stay and met some great people. We wanted to get away from all the big hotels and enjoy the real Fiji which is what we did.
Great place to relax and unwind.....lots of good features, traditional bure comfortable, good for families, couples and singles...very relaxing.
had a great time in Fiji met some really nice people both other holiday makers and the staff were great
Love, love, love this place..very relaxing!! If you are a person always on the move, not a place for you!
The location is a bit isolated, but it is excellent if you want to get away and relax. The resort is advertised as a 3.5 rating (and is starting to show its age), but we were in a superior bure and it was excellent. The room had everything we needed and was very clean with toiletries/coffee/tea etc being replenished every day.Not a good place for the elderly or people with physical disabilities as there are many steps (that are very slippery when wet) and the lighting is poor at night for walking between various locations. The majority of the staff were excellent, though some could smile a litle more and make you feel a little more welcome. We had a wonderful time and loved being on Fiji time. We willl be back. Thankyou.
We really enjoyed our stay at Crusoe's Retreat. It's a beautiful location. There are boat trips every day. We particularly enjoyed the boat trips for snorkelling. The seaside bure was spacious, clean and right next to the beach. The staff are friendly and the activities at night are fun.
Overall my stay was very good. I liked how the resort was on the beach and that the village was next door to Crusoe's. All the staff were very friendly and courteous. My room (bure) was nice but one of the windows didn't close properly. I would recommend Crusoe's to others.
Crusoes Retreat was a great place to wind down & relax. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Will definitely visiting this place again soon.
It would be great if there were tissues in the bures & air conditioning in the dining area.
this resort advertised 5*padi - and when we got there we had to travel over half an hour on dirt 4WD roads to another resort for diving. They seem confused about who they were catering for - I think maybe older couples would most enjoy the resort, but no wheelchair access, and poor lighting make it risky. Good place if you want quiet life, long way to anywhere, with limited facilities.
The delux beachside bure we had was amazing. The deck was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful gardens and ocean. The staff were so helpful, as were the people from the next door village. We had a great week.
The resort is one of the most authentic Fijian experiences I've had - the staff all come from the local village and are all lovely.
Brett and Angie are the perfect mein hosts and try to welcome everyone personally.
For a small resort - the food choices are excellent and of premium quality with no half empty stomachs after meals. All in all a Fantastic location !!!
Really great place, excellent service and room quality, bit tricky to get to other places without hiring a car.
If you want a holiday where you do nothing or everything this is the place. You arrive as a guest and leave as a friend. It is remote but has everything. The gardens are beautiful, the accommodation is good, only 6 bures are airconditioned. Would reccomend highly.
Crusoe's Retreat's motto is \"You arrive as a guest and leave as a friend\". And how true that is. The management and staff were warm and friendly; the service great; the setting spectacular; and the atmosphere warm and inviting. Not five star accommodation however the authentic feel and excellent food more than compensated. I will definitely go back to enjoy more Fijian time.
I had a gorgeous stay with my wife for our honeymoon from 15/12/2012 till 21/12/2012. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. Suggest if you could have alot of sea food available during the course of lunch and dinner. My wife and I really enjoyed the cyclone even though other guests had panicked with some sorry for missing their connecting flights.
May God give more blessings to the Resort and also to the staffs for 2013.
Crusoes would have been one of the best resorts we stayed at it was exactly as we saw it on their web site. It would have been one of the most relaxing resorts we have stayed and we loved the staff there they are the best recommend to anybody to stay there, food was fantastic heaps to do great resort met great people, will be definately goin back to see them.
Thankyou Crusoes for a fantastic holiday it was the best..
was a great trip, mainly couples and a few families there so wouldnt reccomend for singles. staff were fantastic!
The resort is very clean and beautiful. The staff is amazingly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Great offer of tours for individual taste and preference.
From the minute we arrived everyone, all the waitresses, cleaners and the entertainers etc., were all so happy and friendly, it was just so lovely to be there! The food was beautifully prepared and presented, it was like \"master chef\". We had laughs every night with the entertainment, especially the frog races! The resort itself was spotless, the grounds looked as if they had been manicured! beautiful bures , I have to say the diving instructer was just a delight, she was so patient and really inspired you with confidence, my husband has got a new hobby now, snorkelling ... it truly is Fiji's best kept secret !!!we will be going back again in 2013 for sure, Thanks to everyone at Crusoes Retreat!
