nice hotel would recommend it for honeymooners or quiet relaxing holiday
overall it was a great place to stay we have stayed in bali a number times and kinds villa bintang resort would have to one of the best we have stayed in we will be back next feburary for sure.
We got a deal for 7 nights through Travel Online, paying [deleted] per night for a bottom of the range De Luxe room including breakfast for two each morning, transfer from the airport to the resort and a 1 hour massage each thrown in. Excellent value!
The resort website boasts spectacular ocean views from each room, however I doubt any of the rooms actually have an ocean view as they all look out over the gardens, but it doesn’t matter.
The vista looking out over the pool towards the beach is lovely, the gardens are of typical Balinese lushness, really gorgeous, and the pool and pool area are very nice. The swim up pool bar got plenty of use from the mostly Australian guests.
The restaurant/breakfast area is delightful looking out over the ocean, and makes up for the less than great breakfast choices. But having said that, an effort was made to present something different each morning and eggs anyway you like will be freshly made and brought to your table. I thought the coffee was very good here, always a fresh, nice and hot pot ready to go. I had lunch in the restaurant a couple of times and it was fine.
Our room was surprisingly large with a little sofa to sit on by the window and a new digital TV. The bathroom was also on the roomy side with a bath as well as a separate shower and everything was spotlessly clean. The air conditioner worked a treat, making the room a lovely cool respite from the heat outside. I found the bed very comfortable and we both slept really well as it is such a quiet resort.
Our massage at the spa was just ok, I have had a lot better but then again I’ve had a lot worse too.
The location is great, right on the beach and water sport activities only metres away. If you like walks along the beach you’ll love this area. The beach right out front is not suitable for swimming but go to the beach in front of the resort next door (Peninsula Beach Resort, walk on to the beach walkway and turn right, two minutes) and you’ll find an area that is fine. The bar and restaurant at this resort are good too.
In the street out the front of the resort are a plethora of little restaurants and cafes, spa’s and usually taxi’s waiting and drivers with private vehicles. Right across the road is the famous Bumbu Bali, well worth a visit. And it is only about 20 minutes drive into Kuta from here and taxi’s are cheap.
The staff are generally lovely, very friendly, helpful and accommodating. This kind of sets the tone for the guests as well who all proved to be really nice friendly people. This is not a 5 star luxury resort, 3 star at best I would say, but for the money it was great value and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to the more down to earth traveller. We very much enjoyed our week here and would definitely return.
