Located in the Mojave Desert, the Las Vegas climate is a hot desert subtropical climate that is characterised by arid and sunny conditions. In fact, Las Vegas weather is some of the sunniest in the world with an annual average of more than 3,800 hours or 300 days of sunshine, meaning there's almost never a bad time to visit Vegas.
However the summer months of June, July and August can get extremely hot, with daytime highs typically reaching between 100F (37C) and 110F (43C), sometimes even hotter. Humidity is low which keeps conditions a little more comfortable in such high temperatures and night time lows still remain in the balmy high 80sF (30C).
Autumn, from September to November and spring from March to May are wonderful times to visit as the days are warm and sunny, cooling in the evenings, making for rather comfortable conditions when it comes to being out in the desert. This is the perfect time for those wishing to enjoy outdoor activities such as golf or visiting the Grand Canyon.
Las Vegas weather is winter is much cooler, although conditions are generally still mild. From December to February temperatures remain in the 50sF (10C) and days are crisp with plenty of plue sky. Light jumpers or cardigans and long-sleeved shirts should suffice in these conditions, particularly if you plan on spending much of your time in the climate-controlled hotels and casinos along the strip.

Las Vegas only receives approximately 4.2" (110mm) of annual rainfall, most of which occurs for 26 to 27 days of the year. Much of Vegas' rainfall occurs in winter with February being the wettest month receiving an average of 4 days of rain. The best time to visit Las Vegas is from March to November as conditions are at their most comfortable being neither too warm or too cool, however there really is no bad time to visit Las Vegas.
