Mission Beach Holidays & Travel Guide

Located midway between Cairns and Townsville, Mission Beach is a picturesque seaside town made up of the 4 formerly separated villages of Bingil Bay, Wongaling Beach, Mission Beach and South Mission Beach. Set on a 14km stretch of pristine beaches, Mission Beach is surrounded by mountainous rainforest and offers a relaxed and laid back charm despite its constant growth in popularity.

Not just a holiday destination in itself, Mission Beach is renowned as the gateway to some of the best island destinations in North Queensland. Available for daytrips of extended stays, these tropical islands offer a great range of accommodation, activities and tours to enjoy from Mission Beach.

Just north of Mission Beach, development has started on Garners Beach and Brooks Beach however the main town of Mission still seems to remain the most popular with holiday makers. Mission Beach is also famous as the home of the unique bird species, the Southern Cassowary. A rare bird, sightings are most common during the spring breeding season however Wongaling Beach features a large 5m statue of the Cassowary.

Mission Beach offers a wide range of accommodation options to cater to all holiday makers including beachfront resorts, budget hotels, luxury accommodation, family friendly options, self-catering holiday homes, apartments and more. Conveniently located close to a range of local activities and attractions, all accommodation enjoys fantastic onsite facilities as well.
