What can I say?
Stayed at this hotel many many times both under previous management and current Marriott management and it never disappoints.
Firstly I need to give a great big shout out to a few of the team.
Nina F&B manager - what a wonderful level of service, never failing to greet us and welcome us. Making sure we were always comfortable and enjoying our time there, you truely are a credit to the hotel, thank you.
Nina at the Rum Shack - girl, you are such a hard worker and definately know how to run that bar. Thank you for looking after us, a friendly, organised lady who always made sure we had the best experience, thank you.
Dave - front desk. You are a true credit to the hotel, going above and beyond to accommodate us, ensuring we had the best stay and went out of your way to welcome and organise our stay. You will go far young man! Congratulations for being a true professional, approachable, friendly and your oresence was always felt, thank you.
Ohm and Dom - pool bar. Remembering my cucumber for my gin each and ever time, your attention to customers was outstanding under pressure and we thank you, such fun and super friendly!
The hotel itself was always clean and welcoming. We lived the elite cocktail hour, a huge surprise and again Nina made sure we were comfortable and had the best service. A nice touch by the hotel to acknowledge their returning guests.
The food selection and pricing is always good value for money whether you decide to go all inclusive or Bed and Breakfast with the option to dine in or out. We like the seclusion of the resort with the option to go to Pa Tong via the shuttle bus if you want to.
Room service and service to the room is always of a high standard with shampoo etc included in the shower should you choose not to take your own. The amenity bix is furnish each day for all thise little things you need like a tiny sewing kit, very handy.
Breakfast is abundant with two choices of location either by the beach or by the pool and allowed for many choices, we loved this and always do.
The only downside for us was the entertainment, a bit lacking for the size of hotel. The band have been there for uears and although we have enjoyed happy hour in the lobby for uears, you need to change it up, it is becoming very old. We would love to see the lawn used more in the evening, maybe a theme night, white party or something different. I have said it before however, if you offered more comfortable tables and chairs around the Rum Shack, it would be a more comfortable area for customers to enjoy the beach at night.
After coming from another resort with nightly planned activity they managed to keep a capitive audience and great fun. Saying that, we will be back as it remains one of our favourite places in Phuket.
All services and amenities at this Resort are excellent.
If you want value for money & a resort with everything, this is it!

Just came back from Phuket, stayed at Marriott at Merlin beach. Loved the location, such a food place for accomodation with great facilities, and services. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to any request. Food was also good. I could highly recommend this place for holiday.

We have stayed at the Merlin 6 times now and have always found the staff to be very courteous and friendly. This recent stay was no different - staff were wonderful. The makeover of the rooms is great - it gives the resort a fresh and inviting appearance. My only criticism is that special events are not well advertised and if other arrangements have to be made for dinner it is sometimes too late/inconvenient to venture into Patong Beach to have a meal.
The breakfast buffet was very busy between 9:30 and 10:30 am. Fortunately for us we had brekkie at 7:00 am and missed the crazy rush. Maybe there needs to be time constraints and breakfast made available in allocated time slots and people book. I did notice a number of people waiting for tables.
Overall the experience as great. We will return.

It was fully booked so obviously a lot of people are finding irt also very good value for money.
My family and I had a fantastic stay at Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach. I had my 1 and 3 year olds with and the staff were very accomodating with all of our requests including setting up a mattress on the floor in our suite for my 3 year old. The Kid's Club was fantastic! The staff were so sweet with my young kids and it is the perfect setup for all ages to enjoy.
The whole resort was kept in immaculate condition, and there are plenty of food and drink options both in and outside of the property. The staff were very helpful in organising taxis rides for us to take to nearby Patong. I would highly recommend the resort for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway - with or without kids there is plenty to do.
Clean, Great room, Could not find a fault.
In January we paid an extra few hundred dollars for each room to upgrade to 2 x pool terrace rooms. I emailed the resort 5 days before our arrival to confirm my/our request to have both rooms next to each other and preferably interconnecting. I was informed that due to large groups and family bookings my/our request wasn't possible. I advised Suyash that I/we requested both rooms next to each other due to our children being on the Autism Spectrum. Suyash and his team went significantly "above and beyond" what my family and I hoped for. Suyash advised me that we have been upgraded to a 1 bedroom ocean view suite with an interconnecting twin room. When we arrived at Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Merlin Beach we were informed that we had in fact been upgraded to a or possibly the "Royal Suite" which consisted of a lounge and dining room, a small kitchen, a king bedroom for my wife and I, and an interconnecting twin queen bed room for our two children. This was completely unexpected and very much appreciated. Suyash said that him and his team wanted us to have a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable holiday, and that is what we certainly did have.
The staff at this resort make it what it is, every staff member from the groundsmen collecting leaves every day to the housekeepers, waiters/waitresses, etc. are exceptional and a credit to themselves and the Hotel/Resort. A special mention to Amin in Balls and Burgers, Teem at reception and many other staff that I am unable to remember their names.

This is the fourth different hotel we have stayed at in the Patong area, and definitely the best. All the staff are lovely, the dining options are great, we didn't have a bad meal anywhere, but best of all are the wonderful swimming pools - crystal clear, room for everyone, and you can just spend the whole day relaxing there.
It is a great place for kids too, there are so many different things for them to do and they have their own huge pool too.
Wow wow wow what an incredible resort to stay at! Nothing bad about this place everything and everybody amazing! Service, rooms, pools, beach, restaurants, staff, food, cocktails all exceptional! Only small criticism is shuttle bus could run more frequently as it's not walking distance to Patong, most days shuttle bus booked out and we had to get taxis each way which can add additional costs to trip when having to do it over 8 days, but that's only thing I could pick on! Place is just fantastic!
We travelled with our 2yo daughter and parents, and everyone was impressed and enjoyed our holiday, and did not want to come home! The resort always impresses - we have been here before and will be back. The food quality was excellent with a great variety of restaurants and bars to chose from, and also incredible themed buffets are available at dinner. The kids activities are well considered and enjoyable for all, we loved the foam party in particular! Thank you to all the staff who are trying so hard to get up and running post covid, a mammoth task but they are doing it exceptionally well!

We spent there 8 fabulous days. Great resort with fantastic facilities for every one. The staff was outstanding and very helpful. All restaurants are really good and happy hours every where, we had the best cocktails. Extremely clean and luxury place . We look forward to be back!

If you want to be very spoilt then this is the hotel for you. There was nothing left out. There were 3 different pools, one for families, another with a swim up bar and the third in the middle of blocks of rooms. The food was great, different choices and special menus every night. Movies and popcorn for the kids too. The beach is nice at high tide but quite rocky at low tide but they even supply shoes for you to wear in the water. Thai cooking class was great, rooms were immaculate. Can't say one bad thing. We will go back again!

The Marriott Phuket Merlin Beach is fantastic for families. The resort has great activities and pools for kids. The location is also fantastic next to Merlin beach and only 10 minutes drive from Patong.
I wish I stayed in a renovated room - maybe next time.
Place was amazing you had your own beach rooms were amazing food was spectacular but was very secluded from Patong they did offer a shuttle bus down their daily but you cannot walk to anything you need to get a taxi to get around
One of the best places we have ever stayed. family of 5....plenty of restaurants and variety of food choices.... amazing Spa on site, Staff and service was exceptional. Lots to do for both adults and kids....free shuttle into town....large open spaces available to kick footy or cartwheel!! Ever felt to busy or crowded...best place ever...x
But restaurants are aussie priced and to far to walk to other food options. Staff are wonderful, more than happy to help. Rooms are kept clean and resort has plenty to do. They offer free shuttles to Patong markets and back to resort. But if you want to walk from resort to eat out at last minute, you have to travel by tuk-tuk or taxi. They have amazing breakfast and Merlin Beach is quite private to the resort.

Love this hotel, beaufuil private beach and pools, the food is great, rooms great, only draw back is its 300 baht to get into town and 300 back approx $27.50 just to go to town and back. While there is a complimentary bus it's limited and evening is 100 baht per person, it was very expensive therefore to just go into town and come back if wanting to go into town for a few hours for dinner or shipping or just you see the night life, disappointed the hotel didn't offer all of their shuttle services for free. In Bangkok apparently it's extremely cheap, Patong is geared to pull as much out of your pockets compared to Bali Patong is expensuve so I was grateful I at least had a package that includes 2 massages and a drink and 2 dinners at the hotel. My main complaint is the cost of transport in patong Equal to uber here
This hotel is lovely and we highly recommend it. The luxury rooms surround three large landscaped pools and the hotel is on a small private beach. The staff are very helpful and cheerful and welcoming. Plenty of choice for food and special buffet evening meals (at a five star price). Kids club is small and provides limited activities throughout the day - the cooking class for the kids is the best though! The only downside is that it is not walk-able to town but is a 10mn taxi ride. The hotel provides some shuttle buses (but not enough!). Its about an hour from the airport.

Resort was more than the photos say. Huge and spacious it never felt full in the pools. Staff were great and couldn’t complain about the food. Far enough from town to avoid the hussle and bussle but close enough with the shuttle or a short tuk tuk ride. Will definitely be back.
The Marriot can only be called Brilliant. The staff has to be their best asset and in saying that, the Hotel itself is 1st class. The breakfast is by far the largest selection I have seen, world wide. You definitely have to try the Thai Breakfast, similar to asian congee but the added flavours of thai herbs, spices and meats make it a greatly satisfying ,filling and healthy option to our western diet. The 5 or 6 restaurants allow for all tastes for other main meals as well. 3 pools allow anyone peace and quiet if required, whilst children are certainly well entertained and have plenty to do in other activities
Brilliant service, great food, beautiful pool. Beach is rocky and can only be used at high tide. Handy shuttle service 100 baht a person or 200 baht a family a few times a day. Food mart not far away.

A beautiful place to stay. Some fun snorkeling out the front although due to the reef you could only swim or snorkel at high tide. Staff were very friendly. Lovely rooms- clean and a good size. Highly recommend.

Our 3rd time at this resort can not fault anything.
Just returned from 10 nights at this amazing resort. We previously visited this resort prior to it being part of Marriott and they have improved it further since our previous visit. We had a superior family room for 2 adults and 3 kids that is well appointed and nicely furnished. Buffet breakfast is excellent with a good variety of options and the highlight was the egg station and waffle and pancake cart. The grounds are well maintained and with 3 pools it is good for families. Restaurants are reasonably priced with good food quality. The resort provides a kids club that is well run and appointed and is only charged for when an activity is done like candle or t shirt making is done. Overall an excellent resort for families that is not in Patong but is easily accessible.
Thanks for accommodating our request for interconnecting rooms. Was certainly appreciated. We will recommend this resort to friends when visiting Phuket.
Its far away from Patong to be able to relax. Shuttle buses everyday. Service is amazing, staff friendly and they dont miss a beat.

We have been to Phuket 3 times before. This would have to rate as our best visit. From the moment we were greeted at the Resort everything flowed very easily.
The breakfast had a wonderful selection and if you couldn't find anything to make you happy well!!!! The room was very tidy and room with information aplenty. The staff were wonderful even during busy times they all had big smiles and were always welcoming from the Front Desk, Room Attendants, Pool service/Bar to all the Restaurants. It was extremely relaxing and very enjoyable stay. There were plenty of activities to join in if you so wanted. I really enjoyed the entertainment signer she had a beautiful voice and it was a lovely way to finish off the day. We will definitely be back to stay. (Party of 5)
had a nice stay at the Marriott, room was great (pool access room) restaurants in resort are all good also went to a nearby restaurant up the hill to the left when you came out of resort which is also good, Pools are all good, one has a swim up bar which is great, also has a shuttle that goes to Patong takes 10 min (which we had included in our package), for shopping, Beach is good at high tide but rocky so need reef shoes.

A fantastic hotel with great service by everyone we dealt with, my only comment would be to include more shuttles into Patong, although taxi's are readily available directly opposite the hotel and are only 300 baht into patong. I knew of this prior and knew the location was out of the way but this is the holiday I was after. My wife and I loved it and the kids loved it too, my 5 year old wants to have his 6th Birthday there - i still think he thinks money grows on trees
We absolutely loved this resort, something for everyone!! The pools were awesome, easily swum in all day long. The staff were so friendly and so willingly wanting to make your stay perfect.
Food was awesome and I was very impressed with each restaurant asking if anyone had any food allergies, (my daughter has a nut allergy), which made our lives a little easier.
Resort was kept beautifully clean.
I really recommend this resort for both families and couples.

Phuket Marriot Merlin Beach is a wonderful resort for anyone wanting a luxurious and relaxing getaway. The staff were amazing and provided exceptional service to myself and my family. The food was delicious, the rooms were spacious and there were lots of activities on offer. The private beach was very clean. Overall we had a wonderful experience and hope to return in the not too distant future.

The resort is also great, huge amount of pool choices and lots of activities throughout the day for both kids and adults.
The location is both fabulous and not fabulous! It’s great as it’s out of crazy Patong and located in a beautiful beach and quite peaceful. On the down side it is too far out of Patong to walk in, and there are not enough shuttle buses to meet demand of guests wanting to use the service. The shuttle service could be vastly improved by offering a free hourly shuttle service to and from the hotel to Patong. At the moment you have to pay for the shuttle in the afternoon, but not in the morning ? You can get a taxi into Patong, but because you are trapped on the hill, you pay a high price for a short trip.
Amazing international buffet breakfast is offered every morning, and various themed buffers every night. Overall it’s a great resort !!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Buffet and the pool are probably the highlight for our family. The only thing I could suggest , as we had the lagoon pool view rooms we spent a lot of time in this pool and found that there could have been more offering for drinks,cocktails and food service offered. Otherwise overall, I will be back if I was to visit Phuket again. Thank you again for a very positive stay the resort is a paradise.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Marriot. We had the upgrade to a pool access room which was LOVELY. Breakfast was very high quality and lots to choose from. It was far enough away from Patong and away from anyone who can hassle you. The location has its advantages and disadvantages, unless you are really fit and feel up for the 4 km undulating walk into Patong you need to pay to go anywhere. The resort has a free shuttle, only free in the morning, but still cheaper than a return taxi fare. But the advantage of the location is the forced relaxation in stunning surroundings with your own private beach. And 3 massive pools. A MUST STAY
My wife and I cannot fault either the staff or the resort. It's a beautiful place, and the staff are so caring and kind. We got sick from outside of the resort, and they could not make sure we were going ok enough. They tended to our every need and we felt like we were looked after better than we should of been. A special thanks to Pang at the merchant kitchen restaurant too. She knew our names from early on and made sure we were looked after

Have just returned from a 2 week stay at Marriott Merlin Beach Resort.
Can not say enough about the staff at this resort. This was our 15th time to Thailand and we found the Marriott a great resort to relax in . There really is no reason to leave the resort. Various happy hours from 5pm - 9pm made the stay very affordable. The staff excellent , a special shout out to Kelly and Pang in the Merchant Kitchen they gave excellent service they even had our morning orders of coffee waiting for us !

The beach was littered with plastic, not from the resort but from the ocean. As much as staff would attempt to clean it up, they fought a losing battle.
Aside from this, we would stay again.
We’ve just had the most wonderful 10 nights here. Can’t recommend this venue enough. From the pools to the location to the availability of different food options, there is something for everyone. We’d love to especially thank Kelly in The Merchant Kitchen, Oouma in The Italian Restaurant, Su in The Lounge Bar and Oil our room attendant for their exceptional service.
We stayed at the Merlin Beach Resort four years ago and loved it, we certainly weren’t disappointed this time either. Staff are friendly and the resort is just lovely. Dining in the resort was a bit hit and miss and slightly over priced so we’d recommend getting the free hotel shuttle into Patong to eat. This time we were on the bottom floor which at times smelt a bit damp but nothing worth complaining about, I’d recommend asking for a room on a higher floor for this reason though. The pillows are terrible but other than that we can’t fault the resort. Pools are amazing and views from every angle are second to none.
The resort was absolutely amazing. So much for the kids to do, beautiful staff, good food and facilities were second to none. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Special mention to bee, pang and Kelly who were so helpful and kind. I would definitely come back! Only let down was the price of food, it was a little pricey. Over all no complaints.

Prices have risen since the Marriott took over but it was easy to eat in town, staff was wonderful and will definitely be going back
Love the Merlin, we have stayed with them four times now. A few changes now it’s run by the Marriot but love the privacy and pool options available. Two off site restaurants are great value with delicious food, onsite restaurants are a little pricy.

Hotel is beautiful. Room was awesome with lots of room you could even unpack your suitcase. Our cleaner was so thorough. Pools were great. A little out of town and too hot and hilly to walk. Free shuttle in morning was good but need a return one mid arvo.

10th visit to Phuket, best hotel
Loved the hotel, we have been to Phuket many times this was the best hotel we have stayed at. A little out the way but really the rooms staff and service could not be faulted. We really both enjoyed our stay. If we were ever to go back we would stay here again.
We didn't enjoy Patong as a family with young kids probably should have gone to Karon or Kata beach instead but this hotel was a 20 minute ride in to town with no other option for food and drink so it doesn't offer cheap meals. Tuk tuk to town is 300 baht each way if you don't take one of the scheduled ones from the hotel. Resort is lovely but the craziness of the town of Patong and the distance to other options ruined it for us.

The staff at the Merlin all went above and beyond to ensure your stay was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. The resort is fantastic, we went during wet season and the resort offers great open spaces to accommodate for lots of guests inside, you can walk around the resort without getting wet. Plenty for the kids to do with air-hockey, pool, table tennis, a water slide, kids club and even offers a butterfly sanctuary. Free wifi was great and good signal throughout the resort.
This was our fourth visit and we weren't disappointed. Since our last visit, the resort has been renovated and renewed. We found the service and the staff excellent as expected. We found the breakfast to be wide ranging and great value. There are four restaurants and personally I'd only recommend the Thai restaurant. The Italian, Seafood & Thai Kitchen were passable but not outstanding. The rooms were very clean and serviced everyday.Overall I'd rate the resort worthy of another visit.
Resort is out of Patong in a nice secluded area. It has 3 wonderful pools. The gardens and setting are beautiful. Hotel Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a good size, and beds were comfortable. Buffet breakfast was delicious, with a large variety to choose from. This hotel has something for everyone.
We have a 4 year old so to be 10 mins away from the noise of Patong beach we thought the hotel and the service was excellent.
The hotel has recently been refurbished and is of a good quality.
We used every restaurant on site and the kids club all are of a high standard and highly recommended.
We spent two weeks at this resort and never got bored. There are so many facilities to suit all kinds of people. We loved the variety of pools,places to eat, kids club and all the extra activities ( yoga, butterfly tours, batik painting,movie night). The quality of service was outstanding especially all the F&B staff during the breakfast buffet. We were taken care of by Pang,Kelly, Sup and all the others. We had a great holiday at this resort. The kids had a ball in kids club, staff were so kind and helpful, room we spacious and clean, We ate most meals at the hotel, great variety, great prices. Very friendly staff, we started coming to this Resort when it was Merlin Beach, we have had four trips in the last ten years prior to the Resort name change to Marriott, this being our fifth trip to the Resort this year in June 2017, the Resort has been renovated and looks beautiful, Buffet Breakfast is amazing, we ate in the Italian, Thai and Merchant Kitchen Restaurants, the food was lovely staff very attentive, and price wise very reasonable,the pools are huge plenty of room to swim and not be on top of other visitors, we noted this time round there was not the language barrier we had noted in the past, the only thing we could suggest is a few more shuttle buses daily, and perhaps not charge guests for buses later in the day we feel it should be included for all guests, our overall experience was fantastic, love this Resort we will be back next year.
Wonderful place to stay with families as there are numerous pools, pool tables, kids club so plenty to keep them occupied. Close enough to main shopping of Patong whilst being able to get away from the noise of it. Massage places on beach were great. Service was very very good, nothing was a problem and every query answered. Strongly recommend this resort.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing, stay. The facilities were fantastic, from the wonderful poolside room, excellent array of resort restaurants (Thai Pantry was unbelievably good!), wonderful staff, and shuttle service to nearby Patong (shopping was only 10mins away!) . In room dining was reasonably priced (menu felt a little limited), there are some local restaurants nearby, but with only 10mins to Patong it was easier to dine in town. Breakfast in the resort was excellent and a great way to start the day. The room was excellent and fresh pool towels was a nice touch
Great spot if you want something away from the hustle and bustle, lots of free activities, own private beach, our room had been updated but still looked a little tired, great service, kids club was amazing, breakfast buffet was fantastic, we stayed here ten years ago and on welcome you were seated, given a welcome drink and a cold towel this has unfortunately been replaced with the just stand and queue for your room.

Wow a great location for our daughters destination wedding. They know how to look after you and everything went off without a hitch! Wedding coordinator was sensational, she is so professional a beautiful lady!
This is a great resort if you are looking for a family friendly holiday. The service was excellent, the food was good, and the resort was recently renovated and very clean. The managers and staff asked several times for feedback and it was obvious that they were trying to do their very best to accommodate all of our needs.
The staff at the kids club were fantastic and we booked baby sitters for our baby, who were all wonderful. A special thanks to Pen, Jubjang, Amy and Fon for taking such wonderful care of our children!
The resort pools are great, particularly for kids, and the nearby beach is beautiful and good for a fun snorkel (but do bring some reef shoes as there is a lot of coral on the beach). Tri Trang beach is a 15 minute walk away and has a good restaurant and is a nice sandy beach for swimming. Patong is only 10 minutes away by car and is fun for an excursion. There is a great restaurant just a few hundred metres away from the hotel up on the cliff by the beach-called Tiger- and serves great local Thai food. The crab was delicious! There are several massage places on the beach by the hotel- The place called "family massage" was my favourite.
The only criticism I would have of this hotel is that it is a little too secluded and it would've been nicer to have a few more local restaurants around within walking distance. But this is only a minor point and I would definitely come back!

The accommodation was supported by a lovely friendly staff, the location was 10 minutes from Patong Beach which was no problem. A quiet area with excellent facilities and food. We had a poolside room which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for a memorable stay. All the best for the future as the change of ownership transpires. Beautiful pools, friendly and helpful staff - the room was well maintained and clean but the bed was very uncomfortable - it was the only negative.
Love the location of the Merlin Beach Resort, buses into and return from town are a great free service,staff very helpful. We found a fantastic little restaurant that over looks Patong Beach on our last trip, its just up the hill to the left of the motel about 5 minutes walk the best food and great ambience.
Our third time at Merlin Beach Resort, twice with children and once without surprised to find the family owned motel has been sold.
Merlin Beach is a wonderful, spacious resort a short bus/taxi ride away from the action of Patong. Our children loved the gigantic swimming pools. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
We have stayed here 3 times, the rooms are always clean, staff are friendly and provide excellent service, easy check in and out, situated in a quiet location, hotel provides free shuttle service but only a 5 minute tuk tuk ride from Patong. Would highly recommend.

Four years ago I was stranded in Singapore with a cruise ship cancelling its journey and a stranger turned my life around and helped me arrange a 6 night holiday with my husband to Merlin Beach, Tri Trang.

We paid this last time for a swim up pool room. When we first booked for October 2016 we were told a price ....to be later told it would be $3,000 (Aust dollars) more due to a renovation going on and resort name change. We wanted to celebrate my husbands birthday, due to price increase we rebooked for May before alterations commence,

We would consider staying again but not if prices escalate beyond our means. $3,000 is a joke and many guests we spoke to said they would go elsewhere if prices sky rocket out of there reach.
The beach front is great, water sports hire facilities excellent, thai restaurant and massage girls on hill top left so friendly and great with there craft. Shuttle service to downtown could be more hours but adequate
Buffet breakfast excellent, but lots preservatives in things.
I donate gifts when I come over and seeing the happy faces is very .uplifting.

Merlin Beach Resort is definitely the best of the best in the area. This was my second time returning to the resort and third time for my brother and his friends. The service, facilities, amazing pools, private beach, bars, restaurants and more couldn't be more perfect. Only negative would be that it's a little further away from town than other hotels but totally worth it!
Great place to stay, caters for everybody from Families to couples who want a romantic time. Staff are very welcoming & friendly. There is a seperate pool area for families with kids. A seperate pool area with a pool bar. A seperate quiet pool area for couples. Merlin beach has their own private beach. Awesome beautiful place
An enjoyable stay. The only criticism I have is that the WiFi was so poor so as to be useless. I bought a tourist SIM and paid 200 baht for 1.5Gb of data which was enough for us for our needs for the week.

We had a ball. Its not the first time we have stayed but this time was the best. We booked a standard superior room but we were upgraded to a pool side room, absolutely brilliant. The resort is great for families as the pools are awesome! The dining options were good especially the outdoor buffet bbq that varied each night. Breakfast had plenty of variety too.
We loved the private beach that the resort fronts, not so much for swimming but for massages, hair braiding and laundry.
I would definitely stay here again. It was peaceful and laid back, great choice of restaurants. 3 large pools with a kids pool as well
Merlin Beach resort is a lovely resort! We like the fact that it's not in the hub of Patong which is quite busy and noisy and definitely not family friendly in the evening.The private beach is lovely, you can have massages, hair braiding etc. Overall a great resort for a family trip

If you are looking for a comfortable resort away from the Madness of Patong Beach, this is for you.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and service is good.
On the downside. It is a light on for Children's activities and the Kids club is just a small baby sitting service with limited activities only really relevant to very young children.
If you are looking to go into town there is a free shuttle that is good to get into town, but not very useful to return. Also the times are not convenient for and evening meal.
None of our group of 50 plus people used it for return trips. So in reality it will cost you about 500-600bht each time you want to go into town.
The Lobby is open and has no aircon so sitting in the bar area or main lobby waiting for transfers is uncomfortable. There is limited airflow throughout the lobby. At the bar you might be lucky enough to sit in front of a portable fan but this is about the only relief you will get.
The beach not the best as it mainly rocks and broken reef fully exposed at low tide...so beach activities are very limited.
Resort prices are reasonable by Australian Standards .... but work out the happy hours to get best value.
The breakfast buffet (included in our package ) was well worth it.
There are a handful of local services operating from the beach area so this gives you some options close by. You can get a massage on the beach for 300bht (for an hr) and your washing done for 70bht per kilo.
If you are a couple...spend the extra few dollars and get a swim up poolside room. This pool offers a lot more shade options and privacy.
Overall happy with the holiday considering we received 7 nights free with breakfast and 10% of food and drinks.
If you are going to this hotel track down Mr Mood from the "cab rank" out the front. He was good value and help us with all of transport and trips at reasonable prices.
My room was very comfortable but there was a strange musty odour in the room which did not go away, apart from that very happy with the hotel, staff and facilities. Thank you, will come again.
The Merlin Beach Resort was a really lovely place, service was always there staff were really helpful would certainly stay there again, the only down side to staying a little further out of Patong was the tuk tuk got a little expensive after a while when you had no choice to catch one most of the time.
Rooms were fantastic, bed plush and comfy and bath so big. The facilities were great and the pool amazing. Food bit pricey at the hotel but a great little restaurant up on the hill from the beach or otherwise we got the free bus into town to eat. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Only draw back was the distance from town. The free bus only goes in a couple of times a day and comes back only a couple of times so got a bit costly in TuK Tuks but overall the hotel was fantastic.

We Have been there 6 times and also looked at other Hotels but you cant beat the Merlin Beach Resort. All the staff are very friendly and the Hotel is very clean and nice. Breakfast is a dream compared to other hotels and the Polls are just amazing.
Little bit far away otherwise good
I enjoyed Merlin beach very much. The poolside room was amazing (except I think 8pm is a little early to ban people from swimming in the pools - and yes there are cameras and pool-cops). Our pool room rarely had kids nearby (given you can't have kids <12y/o in the poolside rooms) which made for a nice getaway from the main pools. Good variety of places to eat onsite which were all quite good. The Italian was a stand out. The restaurant service (everywhere but the Italian) was a little slow and uninterested, we were a part of a very large wedding group and didn't feel we were treated particularly well given the amount of $$$ we were spending there! The waiters could have made much more money for the hotel (and in tips) by being more attentive. The swim up bar was particularly great, many Pina Coladas were consumed. The resort itself is just a short tuk-tuk ride (300 Baht) to the Patong strip and there is a permanent taxi rank outside the resort, we never had to wait for a cab. The hotel staff were also helpful organising larger taxis (for the hens party). All in all, a great place to stay with kids or without.
My kids and I had a fantastic time. Perfect resort for kids and parents. Everything was there for you and we were well looked after. Staff were great and helpful. Food was good, the Thai restaurant was amazing and fantastic breakfasts and buffet.
The pools were perfect and safe and fun for all.

We don't have a bad word to say about the Merlin Beach Hotel. The staff are friendly, helpful, and good to have a joke with. The pools are clean, and the rooms are clean too, looks like they have recently been renovated. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful holiday at the Merlin Beach Resort. This was our 3rd stay at the resort. We love it there and plan to go back again within the next 2 years. The service, the food, the staff, the room and the cleanliness is top rate. It's almost like coming home. A great feeling.
Enjoyed a recent 7 night stay. Lovely pools, good restaurants, great weather. Enjoyed breakfast and Little Tiger up the hill from the beach. Would like to have had more options with times with shuttle into town. Had a great holiday.

Great resort for my wife and I as we do not like the hustle and bustle. Nice and quiet if you want to relax and enjoy the sunshine. If you want busy stay closer to Patong. Facilities and food were excellent, not worth spending 300 baht to go to Patong to eat as it can buy you a meal at the resort. We liked the location from busy Patong.
We hope to be back with our children and grandchildren same time next year.
Cannot fault the service & the resort caters for everyone. There is a family area & a non children area for a peaceful stay. Food was great & the staff are very friendly.

Merlin Beach resort was absolutely fantastic for our family of 4.
It was good to be 3 km out of town and away from hectic Patong and with our own private ocean beach.
Setting and staff were great.
Breakfast buffet was excellent and the 3 pools luxurious.
As with all hotels the food prices and tour desk costs were much higher than could be obtained from outside.
Overall, we cannot wait to return to Merlin Beach resort.
Wished we could have stayed longer
Had a fantastic holiday very impressed with the resort beautiful setting, room was good, was cleaned every day, good facilities, Buffet breakfast was great with a big range of food to choose from. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Pools were awesome the massage places on the beach were great and the little tiger restaurant on the hill the food was fantastic. Although it was a little way out of Patong the only downside was you had to pay for a tuk tuk to get in and out as the shuttle had limited runs. I would highly recommend this hotel we had a fantastic stay.
We stayed here while we were also having our wedding here, the place is amazing. However due to being that little bit further out of town I found we ate at the resort more then I wanted to due to convenience, however I soon got over the hotel food and didn't find it to be too crash hot.
Other than that, the room was amazing, the resort was amazing, cannot fault one thing with our wedding, everything went perfect!
I am definitely looking forward to returning very soon.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Merlin Beach Resort, I would recommend it to anyone, who is thinking of staying. Rooms are nice and big, location is good, it is a little out of town, but it is good.

Everything was beautiful could not fault anything. Just note the beach on the Merlin is not ideal for swimming because there is a lot of reef and rocks in the water. That's not to say sitting by the beach is quite nice

The Merlin Beach Resort Tri-Trang beach is a great place to stay to relax. Service is good - language difference creates a communication challenge - but in general pretty good. Different venues for dining were good and variety of tastes - and reasonable prices. Proximity to Patong excellent

Our fourth trip to Thailand, we met family from the UK here as it was their choice of hotel. I was a bit apprehensive because of the location, as I like to be in the mix of Patong beach. The resort was beautiful, large and open. We upgraded to superior room and it was worth it. Nice view of pool 3 and the ocean, large and open with nice decor.
The luxury of 3 large swimming pools is handy as it's never crowded in either. We preferred pool 1 near our families room as it was quiter and no children.
Buffet breakfast was great, only dined at hotel once as we preferred to go down to Patong. The service is mixed for me. Reception, lobby and porters are lovely and friendly. Pool bar staff were quite blunt and un-helpful. Overall it was a lovely stay, would I stay there again no. Purely for location. Would I recommend it to friends and family most definately!

Lovely resort on a private beach. The beach itself is nice enough but very rocky when the tide goes out and not very good for swimming. Couple of massage huts on the beach which were very good. Little tiger restaurant is up the hill from the resort, accessed from the beach, and is a great place to eat, very nice food and cheap. Restaurants at the resort were nice but a lite bit pricey and they add a service tax to everything. Stayed in a pool access room which was absolutely beautiful. Staff were fantastic and all spoke good english. Shuttle service to Patong several times a day. There is a taxi rank across from the resort as well. Very relaxing beautiful resort, would definitely stay again.

Our holiday to Phuket was for the first time and we thoroughly love every minute of it staying at the Merlin Beach Resort. It is so beautiful and relaxing everything you imagine an island holiday to be, service food everything was wonderful thankyou so much.
Merlin beach resort was a wonderful place to stay. Service was outstanding, the grounds were beautiful and the pool access room we stayed in was perfect. It was about 10 min drive to main patong town which was perfect as it was away from the busy noisy area but not too far. Would definitely stay again. Though the food was expensive it was always delicious, if it wasn't for the price we would of ate at the resort more often. In all it was a perfect resort.
This resort was amazing. Nice clean large room for 4 people. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pools were beautiful and the kids loved the kids pool. The food was really good, especially the buffet breakfast. I would definitely stay at this resort again.
We had a great time at the Merlin, this was our second stay there and was fantastic, the only downfall is the bus schedule into town, the times are always great, but doesn't allow a fun ride in a tuktuk.

We had a great stay, as it was low season the resort was pretty quiet which suited us, being a family. the pools were excellent, the resort was very clean and well maintained, far enough away from the craziness of Patong to make you think you are on your own island, the staff were fantastic. The restaurants were good without being outstanding. You can walk out onto the private beach and get a great thai massage from very friendly locals for $10 for an hour. We will definitely being going back to this resort. Wi-fi worked reasonably well.

Loved the fact the hotel was separate from the hustle and bustle of Patong beach! The resort was amazing, the staff were so helpful and accommodating! 8 nights wasn't long enough and we will be back to bring our three children! Only thing watch the guy that mixes the cocktails at the pool bar, he short pours! LOL
A lovely resort not too far from Patong but far enough to be in a world of its own
I spent 11 days at Merlin Beach Resort and it was fantastic! The people were so friendly and so helpful. The room was always clean and tidy. There were three pools and they were always clean and inviting! The food was to die for! I would recommend everyone to stay at Merlin Beach.
Our 2nd stay in this resort, and the location of our wedding. Was amazing as always although a couple of changes from the year earlier with a few services lacking but still great.
This resort was fabulous, so glad we were away from the hectic pace of Patong Beach but only a few minutes in the free shuttle when we wanted to visit. Fantastic holiday from start to finish!
We stayed here 3 years ago and liked it so we went back again. Thought the standard was still maintained at a very high level. Staff friendly and efficient, nice rooms, great pools and good restaurants with reasonable prices together with happy hours.
It was Easter and school holidays and the hotel was fully booked but we never had a problem getting lounges around the pool or felt crowded

Beautiful hotel with wonderful facilities including three pools and its own private beach. The room was great as was the breakfast buffet every morning. The restaurants were alright, there were better nearby though for lunch and dinner. Location has pros and cons - the positive being it is far away from the neverending nightlifte of Patong but getting to Patong when you want to is limited to their free shuttle service 4 times a day or just paying taxis everytime. Overall we had a wonderful time staying at Merlin Beach.

Great place for a family group
This was a fantastic resort our kids aged 2 and 4 loved it! The three pools are gorgeous!! Restaurants don't offer many choices but your so close to town you can just go in on the free shuttle bus and grab something!

My family and I recently stayed at the Merlin Beach Resort. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were well maintained and serviced, the food quality and variety was excellent, and the location just perfect. Although the resort is about 5 minutes from Patong, this is actually the resort's biggest advantage. It's quiet, but close enough to the "action" in Patong if you want it. Just catch the resort's free shuttle bus, and the cost of transport becomes irrelevant. It's a fantastic resort for families, couples or groups, and a beautiful location for a sunset wedding. We would highly recommended this resort as the perfect "home away from home", with a lot of luxury and perks thrown in.

Just out of Patong, the Merlin Beach Resort offers everything someone needs for a relaxing holiday from a selection of restaurants, great pools, lovely rooms, transport options and a little beach with hermit crabs which will keep the kids entertained for ages. Definitely recommend.

This resort is excellent, the pools just gorgeous, three to choose from to suit different groups of people. Staff go out of their way to assist, rooms very clean. A great holiday. Close enough to Patong.
Interconnecting rooms for family of 5 were great and nothing to much trouble for the friendly staff. Highly recommended.

This was my 6th trip back to the Merlin Beach and I enjoyed this stay as much as all the others. It is a wonderful resort and the staff are very helpful, truly an amazing experience.

Great pool area for those days of doing nothing. It's an older resort but clean and well maintained, very friendly staff.
A grand hotel with many good attributes, great staff , beautiful pools and tasty dinning , a lovely lobby area for casual drinks and music . Shuttle service was good also. Our second visit , and we were well pleased.

Absolutely magnificent Resort, beautifully kept, with a dream staff all around. Everybody is helpful, polite & makes you feel welcome.
Rooms are large & immaculate. Housekeeping staff is exceptional & to detail in their job.
Three huge swimming pools have crystal clear water & garden staff makes sure that not one bit of dirt or leaf floats in any of them.
Food served at breakfast has such variety, that it is mind blowing.
Restaurants downstairs, serving excellent, tasty, fresh & variety of international food, and at very reasonable prices.
Nothing is too much for nobody.
Your extra needs etc. are addressed immediately and with professionalism.
Front desk staff are dream to deal with.
Don't go anywhere else in Phuket (Patong), Merlin Beach Resort has it all.
Overall a very enjoyable experience. The location of the property was fantastic in that it was a 5-10 minute drive out of the busy Patong Beach, but not too far to travel into Patong Beach for dining, shopping & entertainment. The resort provides a free shuttle bus to & from Patong Beach & Phuket township, regularly enough to make it easy. The meals at the resort were a little average and quite expensive compared to restaurants in town, however the complimentry breakfast provided by the resort was fantastic. We would definately stay at the Merlin Beach Resort again as we were very happy with our pool access room. The staff at the resort were always very helpful and courteous.
The Merlin Beach is a huge resort and I believe even if it was at full capacity you still would have the feeling that there weren't that many people holidaying there. Staff are really friendly and the 2 and somedays 3 Happy Hours are great.
Overall enjoyed our holiday very happy with the choice of hotel and all the arrangements went accordding to plan.

My sister and I stayed for 11 nights. The resort was perfect for us! Everything was very clean, the food at the restaurants were nice and had variety. Everyone that works there are very friendly and do their absolute best to keep guests happy.
I would recommend this to anybody wanting a tropical holiday, that is only a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle.
I cant wait to come back again!
Been all over the world and nothing compares to this little place in Phuket, been 5 times now, and still would go back again. Perfect holiday, we love it here. Great restaurants, pool areas, beach. Everything you could want for a really lovely rest. Have seen a few weddings here too, they have been excellent. My favourite place.
Supurb location overlooking private beach. Spoilt for choice with 3 large pools for families with small children, a swim up pool bar and a more private/quiet pool for couples.
Rooms were clean, staff friendly and buffet breakfast well catered.

Merlin Beach was beautiful!! It was quiet but the 'slum' next door was not a pleasant sight. All staff were very friendly and professional. A great vibe about the place.
We just had 10 nights in room 4132 (direct pool access room) and the entire experience was absolutely fabulous. We run out of superlatives trying to describe our stay. The resort itself is magnificent, the staff are extremely polite and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The food is to die for and the breakfasts are unbelievable. We have never seen so many and such big and fabulous pools. The fact that it is just out of the hustle and bustle of Patong is great - very cheap to get into town. Our rating 10 out of 10 Merlin Beach Resort.

It was our second time at The Merlin Beach Resort. It is a fantastic resort, great food and great location. It is close enough to Patong but also away from the hussle and bussle. Highly recommend for families.
We really enjoyed our stay and are planning to go back and stay in the same resort. The staff were really nice and our room was lovely and clean. I would recommend this place to everyone. I won't stay anywhere esle

went with 2 other couples who have stayed there 6 times, and i can understand why, service was excellent, food was unbelievable as far as choices, and it was nice that we were not in town in a resort, the tuk tuks were an adventure to come home in, I would recommend it to anyone
The Merlin Beach Resort is simply outstanding and suitable for both couples and families. The food was great with so much variety and both food and drink prices were very affordable compared to most other resorts. Our Pool Access Room was immaculate and modern. There are 3 pools (including a brilliant kids pool), 6 or 7 restaurants and bars. The shopping and entertainment strip of Patong is only a few mins away and the resort provides a free shuttle that runs a few times each day and night. The staff go out of their way to make you more comfortable - you are treated very well indeed.
We will definitely return one day and have no hesitation in recommending the Merlin Beach Resort as a great place to holiday!
Just a little from Patong and has a free bus to Patong. This was a great holiday and the service is first class. CHildren have a good area for the pool that includes adult swimming as well. We don't have children and liked that they had a seperate area to the bar pool which was great. Food is excellent I really can't say enough about how great it was. some who like to be close to town this may not suit but Patong Merlin looked just as nice bit older but very central. We are looking to book again for next year.
