Day 1 Overnight - Elephant Hills camp: Includes Lunch & Dinner
Included in your Elephant Hills experience is your transfer from your nominated departure point. After being picked up from you departure location, your tour begins as you journey through southern Thailand to Elephant Hills camp. At midday a buffet lunch is served providing a sumptuous variety of delectable Thai dishes. As lunch settles relax on the Sok River, with a gentle jungle river canoe excursion. See the impressive limestone mountains and cliffs draped in tropical foliage, whilst catching glimpses and basking reptiles on the river banks and of hornbill birds swooning above. As you drift downstream you enter some of the last remaining areas of the primary rainforest, to wonder at a world where little has changed over time.
Disembarking the canoe, visit the Elephant Sanctuary. This truly amazing experience provides you with the opportunity to see, touch, prepare a daily meal and feed the elephants. As Asia’s largest land animal, learn and interact with their mahouts (elephant caretakers) all whilst gaining an insight into the conservation project. The visit ends as you watch the elephants bathe before you get up really close and personal and scrub and wash them clean.
Head back to your luxury tent to relax before enjoying the evening activities. The Jungle Explorers Club Bar serves a selection of wines, cocktails and beers (at own expense). Other optional activities available include a traditional Thai dance performance by local school children, a movie presentation or a cooking demonstration. Dinner is served around 8pm. As you dine in this unique location enjoy the sounds and atmosphere of the rainforest.

During the 1970’s the region was a hide-out for students and communists against the military dictatorship, which today can be thanked for helping to preserve the unique wilderness from development. With such beautiful surrounds take the opportunity for a refreshing dip in the emerald waters of the lake before enjoying lunch. Before returning to camp stop at the local market to sample the local way of life.
