Noosa Hinterland Holidays & Travel Guide

About a half an hours drive from the main hub of Noosa, a patchwork of lakes, forests, rock formations and friendly small towns come together to form the lush Noosa Hinterland. Extending from Doonan all the way to Eumundi and passing through Pomona, Cooroy, Cooran and Kin Kin, the Noosa Hinterland is a scenic escape that leaves the beach behind for rolling green hills, mountain views and boutique vineyards.

Sunshine Hinterland & Montville

Cafes, historic pubs, vineyards, galleries, farms, day spas and walking trails are dotted throughout the hinterland and offer a wide range of things to see and do while on holiday. Cosy hotels, bed and breakfasts, retreats, lodges and country cottages provide the perfect place to stay while exploring the stunning natural environment of the Noosa Hinterland and surrounding areas.

Cooroy is an historic town home to attractions such as the restored Butter Factory Arts Centre, Cooroy Mill Place, Noosa Botanic Gardens and Lake MacDonald as well as a number of shops, antique stores, local art, horse riding, walking tracks, biking and more.

Located at the foot of Mt Cooroora, Pomona offers panoramic views from the King of the Mountain race as well as picturesque Heritage Walks, the Noosa Shire Museum and the Majestic Theatre, the world's oldest continuously running silent movie cinema.

The small town of Kin Kin is famous for its art, scenery and gourmet food as well as the scenic Noosa Trail Network that offers a series of mixed terrain trails and tracks to be enjoyed by bush walkers, horse riders and even mountain bikers. The country pubs are also a friendly place to stop for a rest and enjoy a cold drink or some country hospitality.

Cooran is a small but pretty town located just off the Bruce Highway. Surrounded by lush valleys and walking tracks, many trails lead to refreshing swimming holes. The famous Cooran Tablelands Lookout also offers fantastic views of the coast and excellent photo opportunities.
