Noosa Long Weekend

The Noosa Long Weekend is an annual cultural event and 13 day festival of food, forums, literature, visual arts, theatre, music and dance. Set on the pristine rivers, rain forested headlands and sun kissed beaches of Noosa, the Long Weekend festival presents a diverse program of events which has been 12 years in the making.

Attracting some of the best international and Australian performers, film-makers, writers, artists, musicians, chefs, commentators and environmentalists, the Noosa Long Weekend is recognised as one of Australia’s premier cultural events and was founded by a group of local creative visionaries for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Held mid-July, the Noosa Long Weekend offers a variety of free and ticketed events throughout the Noosa region including a one-off performance of The Magic Flute by Opera Australia. There will also be an evening with the Queensland Ballet and a 5 course degustation on the Psychology of Wine.

There will also be literature events with writers and authors including David Williamson, Liane Moriarty, Hannie Rayson and Darleen Bungey. Some of the forums being presented include climate change, senate reform and is multiculturalism working.
