Coolum Weather & Climate
Located on Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Coolum is a popular holiday destination renowned for its relaxed atmosphere and fantastic weather. Part of a number of holiday hotspots lining the coast that are famous for their almost endless sunshine, Coolum weather is home to one of the most ideal climates in the world. Featuring a year round mild climate and an average of 7 hours of sunshine daily, Coolum weather has some of the highest levels of sunshine in the world.
Cooulm’s seasonal variations are much more subtle and far less extreme than those of northern Asia, North America and Europe. Coolum weather is far more enjoyable and is mild throughout much of the year. Summer of course, features hot sunny weather with average temperatures between 17 to 28 degrees Celsius from December to February.
Although temperatures tend to drop from March to May, Coolum weather in autumn remains comfortable and pleasant, with temperatures averaging between 13 to 25 degrees Celsius. Thanks to Coolum’s coastal location, sea breezes cool the region providing respite from the warmer weather and constant sunshine.
As sure as summer follows spring, winter follows autumn here in Coolum but the good news is that when it comes to Coolum weather in winter, there are no dramatic drops in temperature. June to August sees the coolest temperatures overnight, meaning as soon as the sun comes up so too does the temperature. Overnight lows reach 7 degrees Celsius but most days Coolum weather is an enjoyable 22 degrees Celsius. By spring, temperatures are generally sitting around 13 to 25 degrees Celsius.
No matter when you visit, the glorious Coolum weather means you can still enjoy the beautiful local beaches. Unsurprisingly summer is the perfect time to cool off with a dip but even in winter, water temperatures are still a bearable 19 degrees. Most rainfall is experienced in the beginning of the year with an average of 30mm however winter still sees some rainfall with an average of just 40mm.
