Head south from Darwin and make your way through the tropical Top End passing the historical site of a former WWII airstrip before a brief visit to the Adelaide River War Memorial to pay your respects to those killed in the 1940s Darwin air raids. Continuing on to Edith Falls you'll enjoy time to relax or swim in the refreshing waterhole below the falls (conditions permitting). Enjoy a 2 hour scenic cruise through Katherine Gorge in the Nitmiluk National Park where you'll spot exotic bird life and the resident freshwater crocodiles. Briefly touring Katherine you'll note the major farming and cattle industries of this third largest Territory town before stopping in Adelaide River for dinner in the evening (at own expense).
