Kiama Attractions

Located on the New South Wales south coast, Kiama is a popular holiday destination that combines all the charm of country hospitality with the laidback lifestyle of a coastal town. Renowned for its beautiful beaches and lush rainforest, Kiama attractions include coastal walks, surfing and countryside, as well as the iconic Kiama blowhole. Boasting scenic drives and panoramic views, Kiama is also surrounded by a number of local towns that offer plenty to see and do.

The classic seaside town of Kiama is steeped in history and offers great beaches while nearby Jamberoo offers spectacular rainforest views out to the ocean and the Illawarra Fly tree top walk. The headland of Gerroa overlooks the Crooked River estuary while the seaside town of Gerringong is popular for water sports and is surrounded by rich dairy pastures.

The Kiama blowhole is the region's most iconic attraction and is the largest blowhole in the world. When the tides, wind and waves are pumping, the blowhole is busy with visitors who come to see the large water sport shoot up into the air. Making a loud whooshing sound, this natural water spout is situated next to a Visitor Centre and the historic Pilot's Cottage Museum which offers an insight into the colourful past of Kiama.

The Kiama Coast Walk is a 22km track that winds its way from Minnamurra through to Gerringong taking in the regions stunning coast and natural attractions. Enjoy at your own pace and soak up the beautiful views, isolated beaches and secluded bays. To the south, Gerringong is a traditional beach town offering scenic ocean views and over to Werri Beach off the headland. Home to Australia's largest independent surf shop, the town is also close to Gerroa and its famous Seven Mile Beach National Park.

Jamberoo is an inland historical village set in a spectacular valley of lush countryside and country lanes. A wonderful spot for a leisurely day trip you can visit the Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk, Minnamurra Rainforest and the Jamberoo Action Park, New South Wales' largest water park, or enjoy a relaxing lunch at the Jamberoo Pub. Heading back to Kiama, there are nine beaches that offer wonderful swimming and facilities including Kendalls Beach, Easts Beach and Seven Mile Beach.
