The azure waters and pure white silica sands of Whitehaven Beach extend for several kilometres as Whitsunday Island is the largest of all the islands in the National Park. Repeatedly chosen as one of the top beaches in the world, Whitehaven is a photographers paradise.
Start your Whitehaven exploration on the beach at the south end where the Cruise Whitsundays staff will outline the day's activity times, including the hike to see Hill Inlet and the snorkelling trip. Variations may occur depending on the weather.
Next your tour includes a cruise to the north end of Whitehaven and to the Hill Inlet landing point. You will then follow a guide who will share with you the stories and rich history of the Ngaro tribe, the traditional owners of the Whitsundays, before you arrive to picture perfect views at the lookout. There is no rush and no fitness level requirement so you can take your time to absorb this superbly spiritual place.
Sea conditions permitting, you can cross over to Esk Island to snorkel the reef area surrounding this rarely visited scenic isle.
Back at the southern end of Whitehaven there is free time at leisure for further walks or simply to swim, sunbathe and laze on your own stretch of pure white sand beach.
Throughout the day there will be cold drinks available to purchase and you can use at leisure the beach umbrellas and beach games set up on the shore. Toilets are also handy. A picnic lunch has been packed for you and afternoon tea will be served on the return cruise.
