Getting to Lady Elliot Island

As the map below shows, Lady Elliot Island is the Great Barrier Reef's southernmost coral cay, approximately 80kms north-east of Bundaberg off Queensland's east coast. Covering approximately 40 hectares, the island is serviced daily by flights from a number of Queensland cities.

Getting to Lady Elliot Island

By Car: The Bruce Highway runs from Brisbane to Hervey Bay and Bundaberg taking approximately 4 hours where you can catch connecting flights which depart daily to Lady Elliot Island.

By Tilt Train: Queensland Rail operates a Tilt Train service which runs daily between Bundaberg and Brisbane. Please note that due to recent Queensland Rail timetable changes, guests will need to stay overnight in Bundaberg before flying to Lady Elliot Island.

By Bus - Coach: Express coaches operate daily from Brisbane to Hervey Bay and Bundaberg with connecting flights to Lady Elliot Island available via Seair.

By Air: Regional airlines fly from Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg, where they connect daily to Lady Elliot Island. Major airlines Qantas and Virgin also operate flights from all major Australian cities to Brisbane.
