This Fitzroy Island Day Trip is the perfect option for those with little time wanting to explore the Great Barrier Reef while staying in Cairns. Enjoy the picturesque coastline views during the 45 minute ferry ride and then get set for full range of water and beach activities.
Fitzroy Island is over 330 hectares of tropical rainforest and dramatic granite bluffs that plunge into the water's edge. It is also home to a huge variety of native wildlife and marine life in the reef that surrounds. 96% of the island is protected as a National Park giving you plenty of nature to explore on land and in the water.
Day trip guests have access to some of the island resort facilities such as Foxy's Bar & Café and the general store. You also have the option of bringing your own lunch, snacks and drinks to picnic by the beach. For an additional cost you can hire extra gear from the Dive and Adventure Centre or book a tour of the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre.

This Fitzroy Island Day Trip includes the activities package including use of snorkelling gear for the day and one hour use each of the glass bottom viewing boat and kayak hire, allowing you to fully discover the wonder of the Great Barrier Reef in just one day.
Departs: Daily from Cairns Marlin Wharf 8.00am / 11.00am / 1.30pm
Returns: 12.15pm / 5.00pm
Please check in at least half an hour prior to departure. To get to the departure area you need to proceed down Marlin Wharf (A Finger Wharf) from the Reef Fleet Terminal & turn left at the very end (Do not check in at Reef Fleet Terminal).
Note - The 11.00am ferry departing Cairns and the 12.15pm ferry departing Fitzroy Island does not operate 01 February - 31 March 2016 or 01 February - 31 March 2017.
