How To Get To Surfers Paradise

Located in the heart of the Gold Coast, getting to Surfers Paradise is easy thanks to its popular and accessible nature and the number of transport options provided in and around town. Getting to Surfers Paradise by car is an easy drive on the Pacific Motorway approximately 1 hour south of Brisbane and an hour and a half north of Ballina.

Getting To Surfers Paradise

If you’re visiting from further afield and will be flying into the Gold Coast, the airport is located just 20km south of Surfers Paradise and is just a 35 minute drive north on the Pacific Motorway. There are a number of carriers that fly directly into the Gold Coast including Tiger Airways, Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand.

Upon arriving at the Gold Coast Airport, there is an information desk conveniently located in the arrivals area to assist you in any ongoing transport requirements including car hire, shuttles, transfers and taxis. A shuttle operates out of the airport offering door-to-door drop offs at nearby accommodation in popular Surfers Paradise.

A more affordable way of getting to Surfers Paradise from the airport are the local buses that operate to Ferny Avenue. Departing daily and taking approximately 45 minutes to reach Surfers Paradise, routes 761 and 777 depart the airport regularly. Taxis are also available outside the terminal to get you to your accommodation quickly and without any hassle.

Car hire is also available from the airport terminal with a number of reputable companies offering a variety of rental cars. Save time by pre-booking a vehicle or shop around when you arrive and see which provider can offer you the best deal.

For those not flying or driving to the Gold Coast, there are a number of interstate coach services that operate to and from the Surfers Paradise Transit Centre. A more affordable option to flying, Greyhound and Murray’s coaches both operate on an extensive network throughout Australia.
