How to get to Burleigh Heads

Situated mid-way between Broadbeach and Coolangatta, getting to Burleigh Heads is easy thanks to its accessible nature, fantastic transport options in and around town, popularity as a holiday destination and proximity to other favourite holiday hot spots. Getting to Burleigh Heads by car is an easy drive along the Pacific Motorway approximately an hour and fifteen minutes south of Brisbane and about equal distance north of Ballina, both taking the Reedy Creek Road exit.

If you’re visiting from interstate or overseas and are flying into the Gold Coast, the airport is conveniently located less than 20 minutes from Burleigh Heads along the Gold Coast Highway. A number of carriers operate direct flights in and out of the Gold Coast including Virgin Australia, Jetstar, Tiger Airways and Air New Zealand.

As you arrive at the Gold Coast Airport, the centrally located information desk offers all the convenience of assistance with any of your ongoing transport requirements such as transfers, shuttles, taxis and car hire. For a small fee, a shuttle operates between the airport and a number of nearby Burleigh Heads accommodation offering door-to-door drop offs and pick-ups.

However if you’re looking for a slightly more affordable way of getting to Burleigh Heads, the local bus companies operate regular services from the airport to Burleigh and a number of surrounding destinations. Taking approximately 15 minutes from the airport to Burleigh Heads, routes 761 and 777 depart regularly from the airport. Outside the terminal, taxis are also readily available and can take you directly to your accommodation, albeit for a larger fee.
