With fantastic weather and safe swimming, the beach is at its best 365 days a year. However the beach gets busiest during the summer months with plenty of visitors out to enjoy the excellent conditions as well as a number of beach and surf races held by the lifesavers. Kite surfers also enjoy the beach when the wind picks up and from June to November you can also catch sight of the humpback whales on their annual migration.

Along the foreshore and recently refurbished nearby parks including Federation Park and Victoria Park, lovely gardens, local art and sculptures and children's playgrounds provide a wonderful, family friendly environment along the beach.
